Poll To beard or not to beard? (573 votes)
That is the question. I'm honestly not sure how many beard states there are, but the fact that this is one of few games with facial hair states has me SUPER STOKED. BEARD STOKED

If you B-line no problem, Im at act 2 in The Witcher so i have to come up with something special.

haha i don't think i have the wherewithal/dedication/skillz. i'll resign myself to playing them backwards Memento style (or something)
Always as much beard as possible.
Wanna know why wizards always have beards? Because beards are MAGICAL!
Take the ugliest man and put a beard on him, I don't care how ugly he is, he will look better with a beard. No face, or your face was melted off; this is not an issue with a beard, because beards are magic!

Yeah I just got to Flotsam as well, probably only another 2-3 hours to go right, with game lengths being what they are these days? Have it done by dinner no problem!
I told myself I wouldn't touch 3 until I finished 2 but my resolve is quickly wavering...
let me simplify this for you: in witcher 3 you can grow a beard.
I'm thinking some Eastwoodian stubble, if that's an option.
I'm guessing Geralt doesn't have time to visit a barber everyday, so he can't have no facial hair. By the same token, he's not going to grow a huge beard- a definite liability in close combat. And he doesn't strike me as whimsical enough to go with a moustache or 'chops.
That's my long way of saying that I went with option B.
Long bear long hair. I want Geralt to embrace the "I'm all out of fucks to give" attitude I bring to the character
I wonder how far it will go and how long it will take to find out. More games need things like this.
Question does anyone know if the beard will grow back if you do a shave at a barber.
Because the overgrown beard is a bit too much for my tastes, but the "full and clean cut" shave is not enough beard, while I really liked the middle growth stage after getting shaved for the emperor.
@tennmuerti: yes it will grow back. For my taste the worst is when it is a "5 o'clock shade", middle stages i like a lot like you, maximum beard is not my favourite but is ok
@ripelivejam: Where in Flotsam? And no, not two or three hours; I don't think you could do it in that amount of hours even if you ran straight through the story. Getting to Flotsam you can practically consider the beginning. That said, The Witcher 2 isn't that long, especially compared to three. I am two days into The Witcher 3 (as shown by the in game clock), and I just played about two hours in the third open area: Skellige. The first being the smallest, but ten hours or so to complete what there was to complete at the time, and then the next open area around thirty, and that's not even all of it since you'll go back and do more, probably same as the first area, and then I am not upgraded enough to complete all side quests there. The game is huge. Unfortunately, it took thirty hours or so to get over the size of it and take a slower pace to really enjoy it best. I wanted to get into the main quests and unlock all areas quickly, so I went hastily, and running through a lot of areas back and forth made it (while still great) worse than it needed to be; it was just overwhelming. Eh, I could go on about the pros and cons of the game, but this isn't the place to go on about it, especially since it has nothing to do with the reply you need.
Prior to release I voted full beard. But having to play with low graphics I kinda need to go beardless. Not only because the beard looks like shit, but also because Geralts expressions are kinda masked by it.
Can't wait to get a bowl cut and and some handlebars though, a classic combo.
I know.
I was planning on not bearding when the barber DLC comes out because to me Geralt = Witcher 1 = clean shaven.
But then I tried it and thought, man, Geralt has grown since I first met him. A lot. Clean shave just isn't for him anymore. So I kept the beard.
But sadly "most beardful" doesn't exist in the game, the most you can get from the barber DLC is a full yet shortly-trimmed beard.
@sunbrozak: This is what I do as well. It's fun.
