100 year anniversary and yet we are still here.

The most fetch quest game ever made. But it’s historical. It belongs up there with Carmen San Diego and The Oregon trail with its constant teachable moments. You can pet the dog. But you can’t really fully control the dog. Teamwork makes the dream work. There is one particular area where you had to crack a safe using an obscure cipher that an in-game hint system helped me solve. There’s another one later in the game that I relished in figuring out for myself, so no harm no foul on that previous roadblock. It’s the most rudimentary of games. Yet, somehow physics-based. When people talk about the high art that is videogames allow me to refer you to Valiant Hearts for what their core should be. This game has that old Tom and Jerry look to it where the item that will at some point move in the scene has a different shade of color to it. Most aimless end up helpless with hardly a pebble for a tombstone. Don't spend your entire life looking for someone to mourn your death. This is what Starfield will be and this is what the next “great” Kojima production will be. Nothing great unless what surrounds the game is poignant. In this case it is the setting of World War 1. Enjoyed (is that the term i want to use) the movie 1917 by Sam Mendes. Very powerful movie with the frankness of the immediacy and obscurity of death then and now. I have a renewed interest in watching that movie. War’s appetite is infinite. So is my consumption of war media. What comes of Ukraine as far as media is concerned?

Yes you can pet the dog. Now go fetch. Derring-do awaits.Though just a game, I’d really like to see some statistics. How many deaths for me and actually mortal souls in the levels. There is some of that with diaries but it’s not front and center. Paid $1.99. For this and Child of Light. Child of Light was one of the first single player games I experienced with microtransactions. I really liked that game. Was part of their UbiArts effort which according to wikipedia has devolved into making Just Dance games. Made by Ubisoft Montpellier in France so surely they took field trips for research or were directly affected or touched by the events. This is no S.I.F.U. or Assassins Creed: Japan. Pretty good edutainment game.
