@Zaapp1: In a battle situation, if you don't give away your positions until everybody is ready and has an advantageous view over who they're aiming at, and only then do they shoot, the battle will last mere seconds.
Plus, the casualties in a worse case scenario will be minimal at best, with the odd small cuts and bruises.
 
If each unit attacks one at a time, the enemy has more time to prepare a response.
 
Besides, those missiles needed to be deployed in a good position first before they could launch an effective attack.

Except F:FoW was more interested in the "dynamic frontlines in mulitplayer" aspect more.

this has nothing to do with thje original game, which is actually one of the most realistic games out there. This just looks like any other generic TPS-tactical shooter out there. And BTW why the fuck is it always russian ultra naziolist? Why can't we fight anyone else than americas enemies?

@Th3dz: True, but if you think that Russia could not fall under an ultra nationalist coup in 5-10 years, you migt be terribly surprised. Things are not getting any better there at the moment.

Small nitpick: Holding your breathe does not make your aim any more stable. It does just the opposite actually. Your body is actually at it's most relaxed and your aim is steadiest during an exhale.  
 
The only piece of entertainment I've seen get that right is The Hurt Locker...
