Dan face when Brad steals from him priceless moment. Dan could do with reading some of combat and interaction rules of D&D just so he has basics like Rorie, drew and brad have. and im impressed with Danny mad magic missile skills carrying team all way.

If you're interested in how tabletop roleplaying is played and want to see the GB crew do it, I'd suggest watching the Pathfinder series, instead. By the end of the first episode there, they actually started the adventure, finished the first encounter, and had some fun character progression. We're two episodes into the D&D episode and... they're on paragraph one of page one of the book.

I thought the first episode was pretty fun to see for the character creation, but this one was kinda boring. Especially the bit at the end about Brad stealing from Dan and what not. Explaining and sorta lighthearted arguing about it went on and on and on.

Avalon and Pathfinder were great so I hope the next one picks up.

Gonna be honest, this immediate antagonistic attitude from pretty much everyone but Drew is already making this a real bummer to watch.

Man Dan was super salty. Team work man, rotate drivers, share the loot, and the spares go into the communal fund in case someone needs a loan or perhaps a bridge toll comes into play(i don't know if that exists in DD). Greed never gets you anywhere.

As a person that doesn't know much or care about these types of games, watching this super relaxed attitude is really helping me keep interest. It's entertaining as well. Hopefully, Rorie becomes secretly sinister throughout this series.

This honestly just makes me want to watch more of itmejp's rollplay series. his regulars have gotten really good at making this stuff interesting.

The GameTrailers D&D series is great too, from what I've seen of it.

We were talking at the end of the chat, but it shut down. I was gonna tell you, you should catch up before theadventurezone episode posts tomorrow. It is the first one that goes away from the pregen campaign, and was pretty fantastic.

I feel like all of the DMs out there know what an out of control session feels like, it sucks when a player (or two) can't reign it in for even a second to learn the ropes. Figure out how to play then start asking to do the crazy shit. Neither the party nor Rorie knows how to make rules up on the fly yet.

My first session I ever DM'd was a god damn nightmare. They rolled into dtown, slit the mayor's throat, our fighter attempted to wear the mayor's face as a mask and then they attempted to set fire to the town to try to get out of dodge.

We had fun, but I pretty much vowed never to do it again, it was way too overwhelming. I am DMing a second group now and we are 4 sessions in and they started off meek, but at this point we are all comfortable enough with the rule set to have good fun.

@badgerlord: He gets it, he just gets off too much on antagonism. To be honest, I hope Brad drives him to great depths of rage.

Wow magic missile now is a 3d4+3 dmg spell at level one? You had to be level 5 in previous editions to have the same effect

edit: wtf now a cleric can cast at level one a 3d10 dmg spell? Is it correct or they made a mistake and there is a more appropriate inflict lesser wounds?

Dan can't remove himself from the character, and it won't be any fun if brad can't fuck with him :P

I like the fun Dan tries to have with this. Please Rorie loosen up and just have fun. This is supposed to be entertaining.

Its kinda funny watching Dan be a heel but I would probably never fucking play with him. lol

The moment Rorie mentioned Gundren Rockseeker i cracked up because I realized it is the same campaign that's being played on The Adventure Zone podcast. Lets see who can make this campaign more interesting, the GB guys or the brothers McElroy.

I'm way excited for more of this. Really hoping it becomes a weekly thing after gdc and pax are out of the way.

So is this going to be every episode? The party gets into one battle, then Dan argues for an hour about stupid stuff. Like how he should get most of the loot because "he drove the cart"? Or whatever it'll be next time?

Fighting over gold in D&D is the most petty and boring thing in the world and it makes for terrible television. Also, Brad pulled a Brad on the first fight of the starter kit. Awesome! More fighting goblins, less arguing about the petty cash they're carrying.
