Here's the First Look at Assassin's Creed Syndicate's Jack the Ripper DLC

What are the odds that this won't be the most cliche-filled Jack the Ripper interpretation ever? Besides the obvious "And he was an Assassin/Templar all along!" twist, I mean.

DLC trailers before the game is released is kind of gross in my opinion.

Ubisoft might as well announce the next game while there at it.

I used to love Assassin's Creed because the series would focus on less well-trodden history. This is not that.

Now if if were Spring-heeled Jack, you might have my attention.

If the third game had concluded the larger Desmond arc, all these subsequent standalone and side games would be less bitter to swallow.

AssCreed3 brought a concrete ending to Desmond Miles, then the fourth game pretty much buried it (perhaps literally). The subsequent games haven't been standalone stories. They're all about various forces trying to either aid or thwart the main antagonist of the franchise.

Nothing wants me to buy a game more than when I've showed the extra content I can purchase before the game is even out.

I was really hoping that the twist to the main game was that Evie and Jacob are revealed to collectively be Jack the Ripper and the Ripper's victims were secretly templars or something. Oh well.

Even money they'll just rip off From Hell and change "Freemason" to "Templar".

Right now, miles away, a creative mind is saying "Damn it!"

The From Hell graphic novel is the most interesting interpretation I've seen of Jack the Ripper.

I imagine there will be a lot of walking over to sparkling objects and 'interacting'.

You'd have thought that considering how broken Unity was last year that they would at least try and convince the people they were selling this game to that they haven't once again been spreading the resources so thin that in all reality the exact same thing could happen again.

I mean maybe Syndicate will be alright but I just get the feeling that trying to sell you a DLC for a game which isnt even out yet feels like the worst type of money grubbing.

I loved the Assassin's Creed series.

Fuck DLC trailers A LONG TIME before the actual game is released.

I'm glad they're excited to make money but they should probably just be decent human beings and put this in the game or make it free if they're ready to advertise it when the game isn't even out.

For a moment i thought i missed the release of AC:Syndicate, wondering where the QL is...

... and people jumped up Bethesda's ass for merely announcing there would be DLC before Fallout 4 has shipped. As if there wouldn't be...

Yeah, I don't have a problem with announcing that your game is going to have DLC, but to make a full on trailer about it before the game is released is just ridiculous.

While everyone else is just being snarky, I'm probably more excited for AC Syndicate than anything else this fall (and yes that includes Fallout and the recent MGS V). Love this franchise.

Kinda puts in perspective how gross the rest of the stealth kills in the Assassins Creed series have been.

I'm sure it was just an oversight by Ubisoft's marketing team but I didn't see "Free for owners of Assassin's Creed: Unity" in that trailer. Maybe I can buy it with all those Uplay points I've been hoarding over the years.

All the models in-game still have that horrid dead-eyed lifeless stare they've had since the first game, what the fuck.
