Quan Chi looks cool. The first variation looks interesting, kind of combining traps with buffs/nerfs etc. If done well, that one variation alone could play well into all sorts of different defensive or offensives playstyle. It'll also be interesting to see how useful they are for oki. The trailer shows one that seems to give him armour; that could be fun for messing with people's wake-up!

Oh god that fatality, oh fuck, oh fuck fuck-fuckedii-fuck! Always hated him as a fighter, though the warlock subclass looks kind of rad.

He looks like he's wearing coloured contact lenses.

That's easily the most brutal Fatality I've ever seen. It actually made me kind of uncomfortable.

I wouldn't recommend walking into any swords. I don't know why Kano did that.

The class system has me pretty hype as a competitive player. If only they'd make you repress the block button during cross ups...

Also, I'm ready to see some new characters. Fighting game franchises rely to much on the same old characters, in my opinion.

Never really liked Quan Chi but this version looks awesome.

And i really like what they are doing with all the sub classes of the characters.

I'm not a huge fighting game or MK fan but I watch all of these trailers because I really like the music in the beginning. Has kind of a NIN vibe. Anybody know if there's a full version somewhere?

That fatality is probably the worst I have seen so far. Most of them are so over the top they fell quite cheesy; but that one is nightmare fuel.

Dammit WB and making me consider current gen consoles...

Seems to indicate that Shinnok is the main antagonist. (Or at least a major character in the story)

Anyways, this looks awesome, especially the Warlock variation, even though it'll probably be extremely hard to beat pro players when they teleport you to oblivion. Also, love the new design, In MK9 Quan Chi's costume wasn't anything special, I mean, he basically only had a shoulder garment and black pants, now he seems more like a sorcerer supreme.

Quan Chi has never been a particularly good character.

Pulling people towards you seems more like an Ermac thing but thinking with portals and the demonic bat seem interesting enough.

That horse design is fantastic. Really like the look of the hypnotize animation too, seems like they've updated it nicely from MK9. I kinda like Quan Chi, I'm still unsure on how I feel about his character's role but he has a strong personality and I enjoy his fighting style.

I mained Quan Chi (or Kevin Chieffy) in MK9 so this gets me pretty stoked. I think that summoned bat kind of looks lame as hell even if the utility of it is sound.

Sure, but I began doubting that when Boon revealed that MKX was taking place 25 years after the events of MK9. Plus, he was very careful about not reveling the main villain this time around, even though most of the fans remember that Shinnok appeared at the end of MK9.

I guess Quan Chi reassured me that if shinnok isn't the main baddie, than he's at least involved.

Quan Chi is lame only cause he reminds me of MK 4.

Great fatality tease. Got the same reaction from me that the best fatalities get: hands over my mouth as I both repulse in horror and laugh uproariously.

Mortal Kombat X is becoming the most visceral, carnal, and hard-boiled game I have seen. These brief impressions have had me transfixed.

I know why Quan Chi gets a bad rap, but maybe one day the Nosferatu sorcerer will get his due. It's also fascinating to see Mortal Kombat get more involved with imagery lent from the occult arts. X is gonna give it to ya (in the form of a resparked satanic panic).

Those buffs/debuffs seem really technically interesting. Those portals look awesome and could be super fun to disorient your opponent (I loved Zatanna in Injustice for the same reason).

And the final reveal... "a demonic creature from the Neatherrealm"... is a big bat.

I loved the story mode and extras in the last game, but those damn teleport moves made it hard for me to enjoy the game competitively. I hope this one is less frustrating in that regard.

Defenders of the Realm was such a goofy, terrible show. Right up there with the USA Street Fighter animated series.

i remember reading somewhere that its going to be a big power struggle, many characters are going to come into power and lose the power over the 25 year conflict. like Kotal Khan is one of the main bad guys as well as Boon referenced he's one of the characters that comes into power.

Mhhh seems a lot of powerful bad guys will be appearing, though whether or not Kotal Khan can compare to guys like shao Khan or onaga is yet to be seen, I mean, he is playable after all. (That being said, since it was said that Goro is a part of the roster, maybe bosses are playable this time around.)

Goddamnit every one of these trailers gets me so hype for this game.

whats also fascinating/crazy to me is that, Boon apparently has no idea where to go for a next game due to what happens in this game.

"One thing that's certainly on my mind after jumping ahead 25 years, is I don't know where we'd go from here," Boon tentatively begins. "We wanted to do something bold, and this is a bold new story, despite the fact it's the tenth game. But when you jump ahead 25 years it's like... what do you do now? Do you jump in time again? Do you go back 25 years? Do you introduce a whole new cast? We'll worry about it when we reach it, but I do think it could be hard to continue, if we do another one."

@mrfluke: Now that there is fucking intriguing, because, Mortal Kombat is known for it's over-the-top gimmicks, so what exactly could be so bold that it managed to hamper even the head writer/produces/director of the game? If you pronounced Quan Chi's name as if it were Mandarin pinyin, it would sound more like "chew-an chur."
