General Info
In Tachyon: The Fringe, a player controls a space ship and pilots it and completes missions. The game's main mass transport system are the tachyon gates, which are faster than light gates for traveling from system to system, and to different galaxies. There are a small number of ships in the game, depending on which faction the player works for. Once a player decided on one faction, there is no option to change. Ships can be upgraded on a limited basis, weapons and hardware. Hardware includes items such as shield managing enhancements, better thrusters, and missile guidance systems. A player can own as many ships as he or she desires. You can also hire 2 wingmen that you can issue commands to, to aid you in your missions.
