Overview

The team is put together of many young professionals who have shown a lot of integrity and skill when it comes to game and software development, both in the past and also in the present, shown when developing their first title Metro 2033, based on Dmitry Glukhovsky's novel with the same name.

Oles Shiskovtsov, Aleksandr Maksimchuk and the 4A Engine

Two of the major names in the company is Oles Shiskovtsov and Aleksandr Maksimchuk, both Chief Technical Officers. Shiskovtsov and Maksimchuk have both worked with GSC Game World in the past, which is another Kiev, Ukraine based game development studio; known for their S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series. Skidrovich and Maksimchuk worked on the X-Ray Engine for the first S.T.A.L.K.E.R. game, Shadow of Chernobyl, and with the experience they gained working on the X-Ray Engine, and with the help from the rest of the 4A Games tech team, they built the 4A Engine - a DX9/10/11 and Nvidia's PhysX based engine that has impressed many gamers and programmers alike with stunning visuals. Shiskovtsov himself claims the 4A Engine has no bonds with the X-Ray Engine and explains that the X-Ray Engine's technology was great at the time it was designed, but just doesn't scale to the present day.

4A Games' strategic goals include:

  • Creation of captivating computer and video games
  • Promotion of computer games as a modern culture product
  • Escalation of the domestic game development industry
