Epic Games still doesn't know if Carmine will live or die in Gears of War 3, but early results from the Fate of Carmine campaign indicate that the brother will be allowed to live.  Just before Comic-Con, Microsoft and Epic Games unveiled a hip contest that gives fans a vote in the matter of whether a new Carmine will survive his grand Gears 3 adventure. Two different Carmines have bit the dust in the previous Gears releases. Â
 A digital t-shirt purchase on the avatar marketplace is the only way to decide his fate. Those who want Carmine to eat it need to buy a cute "Carmine Must Die" shirt. Those who want him to live, which is the more popular of the two right now, need to buy a subdued "Save Carmine" shirt before the campaign closes on September 2, 2010.  On the official Gears 3 website, Microsoft is calling the race "close," meaning it's still possible to get Carmine's head knocked in proper-like. Regardless of where we fall on the Carmine life/death thing, though, it's important to remember that all the proceeds of this contest will be going to Child's Play, a neat charity that gives sick kids game-related stuff. Who knew a character's death could be so beneficial?

i hope carmine survives, for once. i don't want him to save the day or anything, that would be far too predictable, but i'd love to see him redeem the family name.
Yes! I always felt sick when Carmine died. Even had to vote in his favor. Â Although.. what if I miss a chance on Carmine's sister Carmine to take his place...? Damn it!
Shit. This Carmine brother looks like he eats gravel. No way is he allowed to die. You know how there's supposed to be four Carmine brothers? This fella is the last two at the same time. Â Also, rule of three, c'mon. Third beat is an inversion of the previous two.

But his tattoo in remembrance of his brothers is their helmets and not their actual faces! Who would do that?! Â Regardless. I agree. He looks like he is actually a soldier, and not some guy who just wants to kill Locust.
I picture Carmine getting brutally injured. And lives the rest of the game on a stretcher in some hospital. And you just cut to him every once in a while. He moans in pain. Then back to the action.

Well I'm kinda interested in how this will turn out and its a good follow up to Brads previous article. Besides if this reminds more people to by a shirt and Child's Play gets a few more bucks that can't be bad right?

Well I did not know how the race was going, so yeah it is news to me and on a side note it highlights the charity. That is generally what news is, informing people of current affairs / events that they are unaware of. Why don't you RSS feed in the future? You can bypass what you don't deem news.
Carmine needs to die, though after his brother got swallowed by a giant worm in the last game, he'll need to step it up if he wants to live up to the family tradition of terribly embarrassing death sequences.Â
Carmine must die. For it to be any other way is just ludicrous. Someone has to die for there to be some of that "Oh shit people are really getting killed" in the story, and if not Carmine, then who?
Like the picture, i want the new carmine to be beefy, with some dialog from marcus along the lines of "... i think he's gonna live this time". I'll leave it to epic to decide where to go from there :P

I want Carmine to live. I actually wanted to second Carmine to stay alive, he was pretty cool... more than Beard and Cole anyway. But I don't want it so much as to buy an avatar clothing item.
As I said, he should die, but being an absolute badass throughout the game, like a living armageddon. He should die in the very finale while kicking ass, choosing his death in a heroic sacrifice, possibly saving Anya or volunteering to detonate a bomb.
