I will say, though, the PS4 is still missing a game that makes me go "oooooooh good I really, really want to play that." Microsoft would have that with Titanfall but, oh thank goodness, I can get it on PC. And I guess 360 but I'd expect that to be pretty well gimped.

Might look into a vita now and pick up P4G. Glad they're using twitch too!

Ah. Yea, the reference didn't make sense to me, since the idiom I'm used to is "the pot calling the kettle black."

@jasonr86: lol, classier? that's one of the nicest things I've heard about europeans for ages. Also I'm from the UK and don't really characterize myself as european, which is weird.

But na, I just get a bit annoyed when articles on the net say "everything you need to know about..." and then aim it solely at a US demographic, and then I end up getting bummed out when those features and dates don't apply to me. Luckily, I watched the stream of this so knew that the release date for me wasn't 15th Nov, but other EU people on here who didn't see the stream or were at work might get hype for the release date, not realising its US only.

Im was just taking about how there's still alot of stuff the PS4 doesn't have compared to a PC.

Twitch is a huge get.

@djou: The only reason Deutsche Telekom can even pull this off, is because they have the majority market share in broadband sector (45%) and they own all the infrastructure (That German tax payers paid for in the first place, back in the day when it still was Deutsche Post).

So they silently added the volumen caps to all the contracts when somebody changed something about his plan or it's been time to extend it. Telekom states they won't enforce the volume caps until the year 2016. But that's an even bigger joke considering the most popular plan only come with 75 GB of free traffic. 75 GB of traffic are next to nothing today, in 2016 you won't be able to do shit with 75 GB of traffic.

But right now it's all a pretty big mess. Nobody knows if other ISP's are gonna follow suit or if other ISP's are gonna use this to steal as many customers as possible from Deutsche Telekom.

@sergio: Haha sorry about that! Guess the reason for that being that in German we have a similar idiom with a slightly different meaning. In German it's something like: "Zu jedem Topf gibt es einen passenden Deckel!". A rough English translation would be: "For every pot there is a matching kettle!".

In this context i simply meant that Sony seems to be the missing kettle that Deutsche Telekom, the pot, has been looking for ;)

@nethlem: This seemed a bit gross to me but I don't live in Europe so I'm not sure how it will actually affect users but anything related to broadband capping by ISP is pretty lowdown.

@geekbot: Its actually a new 12GB version, not 120GB. Its a budget SKU designed to play disc and other smaller PSN titles, ie. not the downloadable version of Last of Us.

Overall, I'm surprised that they didn't publish an actual games launch lineup. Maybe waiting until after TGS where they finally announce that the Last Guardian is a launch title?

I just didnt get the whole PS4 is a like PC statement.

@connerthekewlkid: Helldivers, Resogun, Shadow of the Beast, Rime and Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture are exclusives and that was just for the PS4. Yes the majority of games shown are also on PC but nobody was hiding that.

I live in Europe and the release date is different. A lot of GB subscribers don't live in the US.

But PCs still have MMOs and RTSs which are still barely touched by consoles.

Im not even taking about the Xbox One im taking about a okay Gamescon press Conference people are getting riled up over.

I'd be more excited about the Twitch announcement if I could consistently watch HD streams on there. I have an 80mbit connection and live in NA, yet somewhere between my ISP and Twitch there's a bottleneck that makes even 360p lag really bad at times.

Twitch support's only answer to this problem is to call my ISP and complain. Like one customer's call is going to make them completely reroute their network. Isn't this something that companies like Twitch should have somebody working full time on? Meeting with ISPs and trying to work out network peering? I don't think I'm the only one with this problem, and I have a feeling we'll be seeing a lot of complaints about this after the PS4 launches.

@jakob187: I wish they offered a PS4 with no storage, as I eventually plan on getting one with my own storage in it.

I know this is an American website, but you know you have a huge European audience. Why completely omit all Europe information from an article about a European press conference? They gave out the information at exactly the same time.

Not sure why people would complain about the cheap 12gb PS3. Takes about 15 minutes to swap out the hard drive and you can get a 1tb drive for less than $100. A 1tb PS3 for $300 is great.

The funny thing is how both Sony and Deutsche Telekom make it look like it's something that just happened for the good of everybody. When it basically went like this:

Telekom - Damn.. we want somebody to pay us extra for regular internet traffic, who's dumb enough for that?

Sony - Damn... Microsoft has all this cloud shit while our infrastructure is slow ass, what we gonna do?

So kettle found pot and here we are now. I wouldn't be surprised to see similar stuff in other regions. ISP's partnering with Sony to offer broadband plans together with a subsidized PS4 (Confirmed for Germany and Deutsche Telekom). Especially in countries where the majority of ISP's only offer volumen plans, this could give Sony a enormous advantage over Microsoft.

Imagine you've got a choice between:

A) Subsidized PS4, with unlimited traffic for streaming/downloading on the PS4.
B) Non-subsidized Xbone, all traffic counts towards your monthly limit, worst case: You gonna have to pay extra traffic monthly

Given those choices the more sensible one is pretty clear. On one side it's an pretty impressive move by Sony, on the other side i'm still angry that they paid Deutsche Telekom the ransom after the German public has tried to fight this for months.
