L.A. Noire Coming to PC This Fall

That sure it's going to make Rockstar more likely to bring games to the PC.

I never whined about the issue anywhere, to anyone, ever. I am simply describing the situation as it was at the time of it's release. It was not easy to get it to run well on most users PC's at the time because it was poorly optimized for the hardware that was current at the time. @Laketown: Yeah, I'm in Florida. I have 20Mbps down, which is around 2.5MBps. Bright House offers up to 40Mbps speeds.

I can only imagine the awesome filters that could be released for PC.  Maybe I a good enough reason to play it again.

C'mon Alex. I like your articles, I really do, but Patrick didn't feel the need to mock 360 owners who really wanted The Witcher 2.

Maybe there's something wrong with me. Maybe I'm becoming bitter and old (after all, today's my birthday... not that I care that much about it, though). But... well, nice, I guess. I already have the game on 360, I probably won't be playing it on PC, even if it looks and runs better and my PC is capable of running it.

Pretty cool, although I already have it on PS3. And while I hate to bring up Red Dead Redemption's lack of a PC port, it still is a shame it never came out on that platform. I think it would have greatly benefited from mods.

Anyway, I've enjoyed playing through both games.

"Contemplating" fat guy who constantly states he would buy every game that gets mentioned on this site, but only for the PC, will be pleased.

Cool for PC gamers, i don't double dip, especially if it's the exact same game with just some cleaner graphics, now if they added a bunch of new exclusive content then i would.

@Arlecchino: I second that. I have colleague who doesn't own a console but really wanted to play RDR. A plethora of profanity came from his desk when he saw this story.

I might still get it for 360 since it seems like a couch game but if it comes out on Steam for cheaper before I have a chance I'll probably get it there.

Glad I held off buying. Having played through my buddy's Xbox copy, I look forward to seeing what's in the PC version. Wouldn't be surprised if it's got all the added DLC bundled in, especially if it retails at 60 bucks.

If GTA IV made the jump, and LA Noire is coming, it's not out of the realm of possibility to see RDR on PC someday.

Yes! One of the few games which are taking chances and still offer great production values - can't wait to play this on my platform of choice. Now what about RDR?
 
Edit: Alex Navarro is a funny man and PC Gamers sometimes tend to be a curiously sensitive suprematist bunch... ;-)

Would probably not help. Making fun out PC gamers in everything PC related seems to be one of the requirements to become a game journalist nowadays. I don't think I have read a PC related article (from sites that are not PC exclusive) in the recent year that is not trying to allude to PC gamers being basement dwellers and pirates. I have just learned to ignore it. But it's no wonder that so many PC gamers hate everything console related when they get treated like this, not only from forum trolls but so called professionals too.

Good news (I'm looking forward to this), but yeah leave the bad mouthing of us PC gamers to Jim Sterling in future.  
 
Also RDR for PC would be nice also.  

I'm assuming that this is also pretty much a confirmation that Red Dead is never coming to the PC. Which is really a huge shame as that game would look and play so much better on my PC than it does on the PS3 I will have to give in and play it on.

Looking forward to trying this - it always seemed like a PC style of game to me.  RE: The port of GTA IV on the PC, it is far and away the best version of the game so long as your machine can handle it.  The performance is flawless on a i5 2500k and GTX 570 video card, and along with the resolution bump the view distance and detail sliders make it a much better looking game.  It may of been spotty at release but most PC games are now it seems. Some people forget that GTA IV was also too ambitious for consoles, I played through it on PS3 first, and it seemed like frame rate must of dipped down to 10 - 15 frames at times.

Awesome. Gonna buy it once again just to see it in "good graphics" on my PC.

GTA IV on the PC still chrashes regularly for me. Thankfully I paid little for it long ago finished on my Xbox 360.

I can't say I'm excited for the same. I already own L.A. Noire on PS3 and Xbox 360 and that's enough for me.

But great for PC only players to get this great game.

BF3, LA Noire its going to be awesome fall for PC games maybe Max Payne 3 will come out too this year looking forward to this. I really don't care about RDR played it on PS3 and wasn't impressed would be better on PC no doubt but I can live without not a big deal to me.

Christ, this is why PC games get pirated. According to other web sites the PC version is supposed to have graphical enhancements and support 3D. When PC versions of games aren't announced until months later or have significant delays when compared to their console versions people who bought an "inferior" version on a console will be damned if they'd actually pay for the new version on PC.

I was very close on two occasions to getting this for my PS3.

Now I can enjoy it on my PC! I'm totally pumped for this.

I'm so excited! I was tempted to buy a console and this but thank god its coming out for my favourite platform!

I might cry... (Tears of joy, of course)

I'm happy that it is coming to the platform that I love to play games on above any other. However Rockstar have done themselves a diservice by, at certain points in time, denying that the game would ever come to PC. So even though this is the way I would love to play this game, I won't because I already own it on 360. And I fear that will be the case with many others who would have prefered to play L.A Noire on PC. Which will lead to the tired old chestnut of "We don't sell enough units on PC to justify it's cost" next time Rockstar brings out a game.

I think I'll wait a week or so after launch. If it can run on most PCs like most normal PC games, I'll buy it and probably love it. If it's like GTAIV and can barely chug 10 FPS on my PC, no dice.
