About time. I wish this had been released instead of Okamiden. I hope they stray away from what they did with the Wii version too. Regardless of all that, I have a hard time supporting Capcom in the first place.

Great game. You should play it. But goddamn, they shouldn't have made you fight that damn fox monster three times.

It's a fun game but I can't bear to play it again, my thumb would wear away from the amount of times I would have to keep pressing the X button skipping all the pointless bumbling text!

Patrick, don't let the length deter you. You'll fall in love with the characters and the story and you'll want to spend all that time with the game. You'll probably be sad when it's done.

I didn't know you all thought the boss battles were too many, I feel it is more a few puzzles short of a Zelda than anything else. They are very rare, which is odd in a game which apes Zelda in so many other ways.

Of course, a bit more variations in the bosses so that not everything human-like had that knife-spreadgun attack would have helped as well. Shame about this only being on PSN, as in, I don't have a ps3. Didn't think Capcom had much of a platform affinity, after both the wii and ps2.

40 hours? I remember it being like 70.

The game is really good looking and the music and world are great - but it's too easy for a game that takes so long. It can become kind of mindless or draining after a while. Pretty on the fence about getting this as much as I do like it.

If they could just add a mode that would double or triple enemy damage I would be really happy.

It seems every story Patrick writes reveals another great game he's never played. Get on that.

Maybe Capcom is releasing this in HD as a really good emulation of the PS2 game and doesn't want to work on the emulation on the X360. Just a wild assumption.

I do agree with this. The bonus side of the game is that you're never actually forced to "level up" your health meter or anything like that, so you can go "3 heart run" style on the game for that self-imposed challenge (without having to avoid content).

Even then I only died until the last sequences of the game, but it still made combat a lot more tense overall. I strongly recommend not touching that level up screen at all for anyone just getting into the game (with exception to maybe unlocking ink jars).

Played the Wii version, and man was it fantastic. How the environments constantly evolve through the game, and the stuff they pull off with the narrative towards the end... not to mention how beautiful the whole thing is. Hmm. Maybe I should buy the HD version, too.

Great game, but the combat was too easy. You can coast through almost every battle with little to no effort.

I never got a chance to play it on PS2, and by the time it came to the Wii I had sold mine. Which is fine. I'd rather play this with a regular controller.

This is definitely my most anticipated 2012 release for PS3.

As excited as I am for this, I have to agree. That's mainly why I passed on the Wii version.

They cut the original credits sequence and the epilogue that was to follow.

Weird. Seems like whatever issue that forced them to cut the original credits wouldn't have also forced them to cut the epilogue. Maybe they'll fix that.

God Hand I don't think would benefit from an HD release. Glad its on PSN though. Viewtiful Joe 1 and 2 would look great though because of its art style those should get a HD bundle.

I hope this actually looks good on an HD tv. The other games Capcom has tried to HD-ify have been pretty half assed.

Cutting the credits in Okami is like removing the opening sequence in a James Bond movie. You need those there.

4 things I remember from this game:

* It had way too much of bad dialogue.

* Your buddy is frustrating as Navi.

* Despite above things, I enjoyed the game.

* Game had an art style that gains little from HD-upgrade.

okami is probably the best zelda game.

Are you joking? Texture-light, vector-heavy games like Okami are perfect for HD upgrades.

Excitement is kept at a minimum because there's no 360 port.

I liked Okami quite a bit but I don't think I want to play through it again, it originally took me like 60 hours.

Man, that music though. It brought me back to the ending sequence, and I nearly choked up again.

I had it for PS2 but never finished it, bought it for Wii but the motion controls were shit. I think it's finally time to finish the best game I never completed.

Edit: It's funny that they don't show off the "voices". They are definitely off putting at first, but you grow to love them.

Never finished it on ps2 so this will be a great opportunity to do so. Loved the game but didn't want to replay 40+ hours after my save file got corrupt :(

WOOOO, but its too bad i already bought and beat the wii version a couple of years ago... its all thanks to this community too, i remember posting about the ending i saw on the ps2 and asking if the game was really over only to find out there were still 2/3 of the game left.

This might just be the time I give it a go too. Or at least convince my Move owning friends to.

Played this game on the wii and absolutely loved it, but didn't complete it. I might need to plug my little white box back in and give it another go.

Cool, I was just about to play it on my PS2 this summer. Glad I can play it, SotC, ICO, and MGS 2,3,4 on my PS3!

Looks amazing, and I'm glad fans of Ōkami will be able to play this game again.

It's really too bad the gameplay sucks so hard, though. The story would've been passable if the game weren't absolutely stuffed with my least favorite combat mechanics in a game I've played in the last three years outside of Duke Nukem Forever and Amy. Tiny enclosed arenas, no variety or real challenge in the combat, and wasteful dungeon design makes Ōkami a divine failure I still manage to somehow enjoy rather than anything near a masterpiece.

Best Zelda ever.

The original game really is good but it's also about 20 hours too long. I was pretty well ready for the game to be over halfway through. Ultimately the journey is still fun, but it's a long form zelda game and that doesn't entirely work.

All in all though, you should play Okami.
