Jack Frost lives in my head and there's only one way to get him out...
Even Chie would be able to piece this mystery together... I'll tell you straight out that I feel bad for Brad and Ryan, I really do. Between me running around the office screaming "BLACK FROST HO!" and Jeff going insane running his own private Persona 4 investigation, Atlus has penetrated our offices pretty deeply. With our 45-minute Quick Look of the upcoming Persona PSP release behind us, I think the rest of the boys were hoping to get a little Bufu respite, but alas, Atlus has to go and keep fanning those flames with some pretty strong evidence of a Persona 3 PSP release surfacing out of Japan.
This week's Famitsu is reporting that Persona 3 Portable will hit Japanese store shelves and Japan's PSN on November 1st, the same day as Japan's launch of the PSPgo. While I don't see any mention of when this will be available outside of Japan, there's really no reason to think Atlus wouldn't bring this over at some point. Personally, Persona 3 is where I got my first taste of the series, so it holds a special place in my heart and even though Jeff and I have spent over 80 hours during our Persona 4 Endurance Run, I'm still ready to head back and finish what I started in P3.
It's an Evoker, ok? It also seems like Atlus is adding some extra content on top of 2008's Persona 3 FES edition. Apparently, you'll be able to choose a lady instead of a male as your main character, which will obviously offer different interactions with the rest of the cast. Some other changes sound like they are being made to make the game mechanics a bit more comparable to Persona 4. There are also reports of visual changes to the Personas no matter what gender your main character is, but if that means I won't be popping myself in the head with an " Evoker" to summon a Jack Frost, then count me out!
So, while we wait for the official word from Atlus, and we all hold our breath for Persona 5, are there any old or new fans ready for some evoking on the go?

@Vyrtigo: Well it only includes The Journey campian, so thats almost half the content knocked off striaght from the bat. Then they must compress it or something since they dont need as good as resolution for the PSP because of its aspect ratio and size.

I swear to god, I nearly punched through my TV in the hopes of hitting Mitsuru at some points in that game. For a certain boss, she simply WOULD NOT use Bufala, despite me showing her that it was a perfectly acceptable move to use in the situation. Fine, I thought, I'll have you heal instead, so I set her to Support. The problem came when Akihiko got poisoned- Even when he was just 10 or so hp down from his max, she insisted on using Diarama on him instead of me, when I had around 50hp left. And it just kept happening, every single turn. I've never sworn so much or so loudly as I did in that boss fight. Needless to say, never ever used her again. Being able to control characters is a godsend. Hopefully it's possible to chose what moves they get rid of when levelling up as well, as I need to ask, Is there EVER a time when tentarafoo is the right move to use?
Argh, just thinking about Mitsuru makes me angry. And Yukari wasn't blameless, either, as like you say, she picks the most inopportune times to use Wind Break.

But its cool how it is coming to PSN since I can get it striaght from Japan if I feel tolerant of no English. I really cant wait much longer than November since I got deep into P3 for about 16 hours but then my PS2 broke with the game in it. Just make sure Atlus will get an English version out before the year is over! "
As far as I know, UMDs only hold about 1.8 gigs max. The story says it's hitting "shelves" as well PSN. So, unless its on multiple UMDs, it shouldn't be nearly as big as 4.5 gigs.
If this ain't coming to Europe or the States, or is coming as ridicoulusly late as the original P3, Nanako will keep dying over and over again. And I mean it.
Better release it in the Western world before 2009 ends. Do it for Dojima, guys.
Sony needs to be promoting the hell out of Atlus, because between Persona and Persona 3P on the PSP, that company is the sole reason I'd consider buying a PSP right now, and consider it I have. So much so I got to the end of Checking Out at Gamestop.com before talking myself out of it, as paying off student loans probably constitute as a more important investment than another thing to distract me.

Wow that sounds awesome, especially because I have a certain proclivity to choosing female characters in video games. However, I love Persona 3 so much that, as much as I hate to admit it, the idea of such a significant change to the game kind of scares me a little. I know, it's weird : /
I´m actually playing trough Persona 3 FES on the PS2 at the moment... and so far i love it! I´ll probably buy a PSP version of the game, but i´m planning on playing through Persona 4 and the upcoming Persona PSP. So maybe i´ll buy this Persona 3 PSP version just to support Atlus, and so they have some more money to spent on making Persona 5 even better!
I was going to dismiss this since I've already played P3 several times, but playing a female might change the game completely. I have no problem picking up men in a video game. After all it's called roleplaying. Same reason I can be a total evil dark side badass in a game even though I certainly wouldn't irl.
@Everyones_A_Critic: Perfect time to buy one!!! I'de go for the 3000, or a 2000 if you can find one new, cheaper, and more functionality. Plus you can HACK a 2000!

I feel that both Persona 3 and 4 lend themselves to be really great games to play on the go. Maybe its too early to want to go for a PSP port of Persona 4, plus I'm only 17 hours into P3: FES.

That sounds freakin' boring in comparison to the boys' side of things.
At first, I wasn't interested in playing this game since I already played the original P3 and FES. But if they're making gameplay improvements so it's more in line with P4, that can only mean direct control of the party. Still not sure if I would get it, though...I guess it depends on how much they add to it.
I wonder what will happen to "Operation Babe Hunt" if you play as a female? I guess you'd probably be hanging out with the girls...it sounds like you'll be playing through the same story, but from the other perspective. I wonder why Atlus felt they had to do another version of P3, as opposed to a new Persona PSP game?
@DragonofFate: i dunno. I feel like promiscuity on either end is just as bad. It might almost be worse as a guy. Minato really gets the romatic social link girls to fall in love with him. And then he betrays them by sleeping around. Thats pretty bad. They all seem pretty emotionally attached to him and it really seems like a dick move, whereas i think there would be a higher chance if the roles were reversed that more guys would be ok being friends w/ benefits. I think it was a really good thing that they added platonic social link options for female social links in persona 4, because i felt pretty bad about 2 timing chidori. I want my main character to be a 1 woman man. Or in the new version a 1 man woman.
