Retailers Move Alpha Protocol To 2010

This is good news, the previews they were showing looked pretty awkward, I had a feeling it was going to be an another overly ambitious game that falls down in basic execution, hopefully this saves it.

What a load of shit!  I was really looking forward to this game, now it seems they're getting the shaft from Sega AGAIN.

Gamefly has it TBA, so I wouldn't worry too much.

I'd probably be pissed normally, but there are plenty of games coming out in the near future to keep me busy until it releases so... meh.

Atleast in Alpha Protocol's case, they might be going for a June release (if you believe Gamestop) which is usually a dry period for games. So maybe some good news there ? "

The Sega Genesis just called. It said that box art is too awesome to not be for a 16-bit cartridge.

I've actually never seen the game look anything other than rough.  Maybe this is a good thing.

Hum, between this and Trine, I feel like I've been stood up twice.  Guess AP got scared off by the behemoths of Thanksgiving 2009.
Oh well, I hopefully Borderlands and Tropico 3 will be entertaining enough till MW:2

I hope the game will be released this year, but if the game is just not done than I don't  mind I rather have a great game in 2010.

Given how soon Alpha Protocol's supposed release date is, I'm surprised that Sega hasn't officially announced the delay yet if it's actually happening.

Man this was 1 of the 4 games i was planing to actually buy this year. Oh well even more money left over for the next year or something that is not video games.

Hopefully they'll use the extra time wisely.

I really hope they aren't delaying it. I've been saving for this game so long, it woul really piss me off. Well' if this doesn't come out in October, I'll wait for Assassin's Creed 2

I... For some reason know nothing about this game. I've heard talk about it a lot the past few months, but I can't bring a single detail about it to mind. Not even the genre. 
 
Delaying a game a week before release is a dick-move any way you look at it though. Not that Sega is a stranger to that...

If it comes out near the same release date as Mass Effect 2, it would really hurt AP's sales considering ME is an established IP and all

It sucks that the game is being delayed for such a long period of time, but if a better game comes as a result I do not mind waiting.

I thought the title meant there was some mass conspiracy by the Retailers to not sell the game until 2010. I was very wrong.

If it helps them polish up the game more and give them a better chance at doing well, then I'm all for it. I'll be buying it when it comes out.

Well that sucks, I was really looking forward to this.
 
I decided to check up on my pre orders in case anything else was delayed and sure enough Assassin's Creed 2 (PC) won't be out for another 5 or 6 months. Great.

This is a shame but there are so many other games coming out soon, I can wait for Alpha Protocol. Still looking forward to it though.

Saw it coming in the leaked Sega conference call minutes where they also outed DC games on PS3. What was the note from the conference, again? " Mass Effect felt more RPG?"
 
I thought that was a good thing because ME wasn't great as an action game. Devs of both genres are still trying to find the right balance of elements and the feel of these new hybrids.

It seems like I'm the only one who thinks this game looks really cool.

I forgot it was coming so... push it SEGA. The first new IP from Obsidian shouldn't be a financial failure! This would have done much better in august or something, but May-June territory is fine

The game looked cool. If this is true, it fucking bullshit: only a week's notice for the delay, and it hasn't even been announced yet? Not cool, Sega/Obsidian. If the game isn't done and this is to make it a quality product, then they shouldn't have announced it so effing early.

Noooo! I joked about this to Matt Rorie's face and he seemed very certain it would come out this year. Disappointing, this was going to fill the Mass Effect 2 craving.

Hope we can get some confirmation on at least a new release window, if not a date. I've never been particularly drawn to Alpha Protocol, but if the game turns out decent, it would sure be on my radar.
