I thought people paying for the EA sports thing where you get to play a week early and discounts on the DLC were stupid. But if you pay a monthly fee to play Tetris you are an idiot. You can buy an old NES or FC Twin and the original game for around the price of the yearly fee.

They are just now getting the award? I thought it was when they took down most of their Steam supported games, or when they made Origin when it never needed to exist, and actually hurts the customer by pretty much forcing them to create yet another account for yet another game for absolutely no reason other than to play BF3 on PC, or when they admitted the only reason they started new IPs like Mirrors edge and dead space was because they knew the money wasn't mainly in sequels anymore. This would make more sense on a version of Tetris The Grandmaster, you know a version that actual pro players play. A casual version for a touch screen devices doesn't need stat tracking.

It gives you access to a website where all of your moves are tracked and analyzed, and you get advice on how to better plan for the maximum number of tetrises (tetri?). Except the site will have a godawful amount of traffic and won't work for a couple of weeks and EA will give you a free month.

Seems like something that would be better suited to micro-transactions. You know: pay one dollar, get a line block.
