THQ Confirms Metro 2033 Sequel's 'Last Light' Subtitle, We Pray for Return of Ghost Train

Everybody hop on the ghost train.

No one can tell you what the ghost train is, you must experience the ghost train for yourself.

Though the Ukranian-developed Metro 2033 didn't set the world on fire, there's really nothing else like it, and I'm not joking when I'm saying Metro 2033 was easily one of my favorite experiences from last year.

Domain registrations have pointed to the Metro 2033's sequel being dubbed Metro 2033: Last Light, which THQ finally confirmed on a conference call this afternoon discussing their financial results. The game isn't scheduled for 2012 sometime, but THQ famously green-lit another one before Metro 2033 released.

And come on, the whole gas mask and notebook thing is a big gimmick. It could be replaced with a menu and it wouldn't have made it any different, maybe even made it better.

YES YES! Someone who shares exactly the same opinion as me on this game. it sucked real hard. "
Yeah people seem to love this game but it was pretty poor. And they didn't even use real russian speakers, which is why it sounded so fake.

Bought the first one off Steam and never finished it. Did not like a thing about it.

Loved Metro 2033 on PC when I bought it off Steam as apart of the Metro 2033/Homefront bundle which I must say Metro was by far the better out of the two. I wonder if Last Light is more an expansion and that Metro 2034 will be the sequel.

Good for them for being able to make a sequel. Will it be a direct sequel though?

Let me guess, you hated Mirror's Edge too?

The Call of Duty aisle is in that direction.

God the ghost train was so fucking awesome.

Good to know there's an editor on GB with some taste.

Metro 2033 is fucking cool, dodgy shooting mechanics aside. I'm wholeheartedly invested in this sequel.

@Microshock: How are those things gimmicks? Gas mask added to gameplay, and both added to immersion. At least some developers still care about little details, but of course you would rather play something like Call of Duty where walking in a contaminated zone was no different than being anywhere else. Let me guess, you disliked the use of bullets as currency as well?

I'm sorry, but I can't take anything in your post seriously.

That last sentence makes my brain hurt, but I think it makes sense. I think there was always going to be another game. Or something. I dunno, but I fucking loved the first one. This and the Stalker series are definitely my favourite FPS of recent years.

Game was rather interesting though still think that the bullet currency system is silly, now if it was bullet shell casings or something else then this game would make more sense.
