Three packs to round out New Vegas' story over the next couple of months.
UPDATE: Bethesda has confirmed the DLC will not add a Broken Steel-esque post-campaign quest.
"None of the upcoming DLCs will allow you to play beyond the main quest," said the company on its message boards.

With save game funny business reportedly sorted out, those desiring more adventures in the Wasteland can start anticipating three downloadable expansions for Fallout: New Vegas. There are three packs arriving between now and July, one per month: Honest Hearts, Old World Blues and Lonesome Road.
The first pack, Honest Hearts, arrives on May 17, and drops Vault Dwellers into a tribal war within Utah's Zion National Park after being raided. You'll also encounter someone named the Burned Man.
In June (Bethesda has not specified a specific release date), Old World Blues pits you and a bunch of pre-war technology against a bunch of Mojave creatures scarred and changed by various experiments.
Finally, Lonesome Road rounds out the world of expandable New Vegas in July. This one will "bring the courier's story full circle," as players are contacted by the original Courier Six, Ulysses, to learn more about the Platinum Chip and why one would decide to refuse delivering it.
There's no indication any expansion will have the same effect as Fallout 3's Broken Steel, which let you continue after the main campaign. As Lonesome Road could possibly fit that profile, I've asked.
All three packs will arrive simultaneously on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.

In Dead Money, we did it for the survival/horror experience. None of the future DLCs strip gear from a player, although in Honest Hearts, because of the caravan journey you're on (and the distance) you can only carry a certain weight limit (which can be increased with skills and perks).
In both Honest Hearts and Old World Blues, you'll find out fast that you're in a difficult situation and need to finish the adventure once begun - but both adventures take place in an open world free-roaming location (similar to Point Lookout). Once there, you can tackle your objectives in any order or ignore them entirely. After completing the adventures, you can return freely to both locations from the Mojave.
In Old World Blues, it's very, very easy to return anytime you want, and we tried to make it as easy as possible for people to do so.
Lonesome Road is a bit different. As the name suggests, it's more a road that leads to an end destination (though not like any road you may have seen before), so it's structured a bit differently - you can travel it, and come back anytime you want. You can also return to it after the adventure is over.
No more stripping of your gear, and Honest Hearts and Old World Blues are Point Lookout style open free-roaming locations.
OH YEAHHH can't wait to play them still playing the game and it ROCKS sooooo many choices to choose and decisions hopefully when I finish the game all the DLC's will be out for me to play that is if PSN is on by then :(
@thomasnash: Each pack will raise the cap by 5. If you get them all you can max out at level 50.
If you're concerned about being overpowered (we're talking another 200+ skill points and 10 perks here), you'll be able to take a new Trait will limits your level to the original 30.
I'm not interested in playing after the main storyline, but is there any word on whether these DLC packs will raise the level cap at all? I believe that Dead Money put the level cap up (I haven't played it in ages and never finished Dead Money so I can't remember really.
I still haven't played the whole main quest yet, but I won't want to put it off any more, even for DLC, unless I'm going to be getting levels I think. Certainly when I played F3 once I got to level 20 I found that I wasn't hugely motivated to keep exploring.

Don't you see as it being completely unreasonable for Obsidian to have to make all the endings have effects in the game world? Do you not understand how different 90% of the Mojave would be if Caesar's Legion has taken over, or the NCR has retreated back to California?
New Vegas is not like Fallout 3. There are a lot of long-lasting repercussions of the battle, and the battle at the dam is not the only source of conflict. Complete towns and settlements have the potential to be wiped off the map or abandoned due to the actions of the Courier.

Here's the thing. That game shouldn't have been released in the state it was in anyway. If by "fixed" you mean a combination of developer patches, user mods and wiki guides telling you which quests will corrupt your save... that's not really fixed.
I bought the Fallout 3 GOTY edition a few months after it was released and never once encountered a real problem with the game. How did they manage to take the same game and not only counteract all of the work from those patches, but also create new problems they felt didn't have to be fixed for release? I know this is old news, but boo them.

If you miss out on this game because of the bugs I promise you that you're missing out on an awesome game. BUT I won't make excuses or say that's it's fixed, because I'm up-to-date with my patches and it's a lot better, but not perfect. If anyone has waited this long I'd just wait for the inevitable Game of the Year edition... it'll be the best and least buggy version for sure.
@Mooseslayer: I think that if you talk to some of the Legion they will bring up some Burned Man rumors. They defiantly made it sound like he was still alive and around.
They really set-up the other courier thing. It kind of annoys me that they put in that kind of cliff-hang to the story just so they can release it as DLC.
I didn't like Dead Money all that much. I actually haven't even finished it yet. Here's hoping these next three will be better. It'll be interesting to see what the encounter with The Burned Man will be, since he's kinda like, dead at the bottom of a canyon, right?
@sofacitysweetheart: they created entirely new assets, plus their new companion wheel and other things... it was on Gamebryo, which is always mad buggy, plus the fact that Obsidian themselves didn't bug test it, Bethesda did.

" As far as I'm aware Obsidian is dead set on not allowing you to continue after the main quest is complete through DLC.Even though it would be pretty easy to just relocate the player to a big new area ala Point Lookout after the main quest is done. "
Obsidian must be one of the most overrated (by bitter old PC hardcore gamers) developers ever. Thank god for modding!
I can see myself scooping up all the DLC some day when it all goes on sale, then giving it all another playthrough. Till then, there's no way I'm going to pay ~$40 for DLC.

I'm just glad that there's a big red flag that pops up saying 'this will end the game', makes it easy to save beforehand & just go through the ending with one save & have the other for running around. After going through the ending, apart from a ton of gear & weapons as well as the legate's weapon, I didn't get any big game changing thing that I can't get elsewhere.
Thinking of writing a full Dead Money review, but maaaaan was I glad to be done with it. I wanted to kill that bugger ten times over for putting me through all that. Of course I was projecting the Obsidian devs onto the character... pew pew pew 'splode B-)
Single biggest piece of advice if you're getting ready to go through Dead Money: Take the Light Step perk. Just fucking take it. Save your teeth the many many grittings. And kill that bugger.
I came close to getting this game but I think I just ended up passing the window of interest I had for this game. I put it off because of how fucked up it was and now......I just don't have any interest to play this.
It's great that we finally get to meet Joshua Graham, but I'm really excited to see the Lonesome Road after all the talk of the battle at the Divide in the ending of Dead money.
You know, I think I'm good with not buying any of these if they at all resemble Blood Money. Game developers have finally gotten the idea of what to make in regards to DLC, but they certainly haven't managed to keep the quality anywhere near consistent with the main game.
Voting with my dollars against the slap in the face that was Dead Money DLC being an xbox exclusive for so long. I'm never getting over that, even if it apparently was no great loss in the end. It's just bad business, and I'm not supporting it.

Glad they are on their way. None will allow you to play beyond the main quest? Then how does that explain Colonel Moore's bugged end-game dialogue where she talks about how she was promoted to Brigadier General?
I bought all 5 DLC packs for Fallout 3 and did everything you could do in them. I bought Fallout New Vegas, struggled against freezes and glitches and console crashing fun to finish it and I have not bought and will not buy any DLC for it.
Don't support broken games people. They will keep making them if you do.

For all the Oscar-worthy writing Obsidian is capable of (or so I'm told) I would have expected a little more creativity here. Yet another faction VS faction romp that I don't really have a stake in, some "kill X" quests and more business about the platinum chip that I wasn't aware needed a DLC's worth of clarification.
The concept behind Mothership Zeta sounds genius by comparison.
