Valve Confirms New Counter-Strike for PC and...Consoles?

Meh, I woulda been stoked for a new CS like 5 years ago. Maybe.

I have to wonder why? Don't the people who play it consider it perfect? And every one else has moved on or didn't like it to begin with.

I like how Valve calls the PS3 and 360 "next gen consoles".  They haven't been next-gen consoles for five years.

As a As a loooong time Counter-strike player I am EXCITED about this! I just hope that Valve can pull off a good release and drum up some hype for the franchise, 'cause i know the console generation needs a dose of one of the BEST multiplayer shooters of all TIME!

I don't really care actually, they probably know what they're doing, I'm a big CS fan even though now I suck so much ass at it, well I used to always be good when I played with my friends but I would always get my ass kicked online with random players, I hope I can get into this one and at least be good for a day or two :D

I'm interested, but how are they going to differentiate themselves substantially from the other huge shooters that have spawned since the introduction of Counter-Strike?

This truly is the biggest test for Valve and there PC fanbase will they go the easy way out like Crytek, Monolith and Dice and dumb it down for the casuals or will they stick to there guns.PC gamers in the last 5 years has had to put up with so much so dumbed down shit that it's really gotten ridiculous. FPS turn from hardcore genre into a 12 year old cod slumber party.Valve is either going to be truly one of the only few Dev's left that doesn't sacrifice there gameplay  to appeal to the casuals or they will just be another douchebag developer playing it safe to profit while the game suffers from any intelligence.

I just hoped there are hats...

I have a feeling that this will be on consoles in the same fashion that TF2 was on consoles. PC will be the clear platform for this type of game as CS has always been a very fast and deadly game.

Interested to see what this looks like.

oh god....  Another Good PC game dumbed down for console thanks valve you fuckers. 
 
If this game fucking has console and PC cross play because valve went insane they better let us ban the fucking console noobs from our servers with a simple command or tick box automatic  and the slow ass analog stick controls from the server nobody wants them  in the game to make the game suck.     
And anybody who even looks like they are useing a controler I am going to ban there ass from my servers it's obvious they are slow dudes with jerky aiming  cant spin around fast enough and not hitting anything they aim at  and I will do it manual if i have to.
 
That port of counter strike on xbox 1 sucked balls it  was nothing like the real PC game  and the analog stick aim sucks balls it might as well have aimed for you in slow motion because that is the only thing you could have done to fucking hit anything .
 
Hell it's still like that  to this day the console versions suck balls control and look like ass on top of that. 
 
If valve ruins counter strike by dumbing it down for the console noobs then I am not buying the fucking game.

Can we outlaw the term "dumbed down" Holy bananas they wanna make a CS game that might not be like 1.6 AND on something other than a PC?! OMG NO!!!1111one. Some fan of Valve you are if you're gonna shit on their game before even a single screen shot or video is released....ok anger is over- I'm excited for this!

There's no reason to "dumb down" Counter-Strike. It isn't any more complex than any given popular console shooter at this point.

If we're able to play against console players on PC, then maybe I'll finally be able to play against others my level.
