World at War Beta Forthcoming

Even the Greatest Generation requires some balance-testing, apparently.

Demand for beta tokens is fierce.
The Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare multiplayer beta (or as our UK friends say, bee-ta) definitely played a big role in that game's eventual domination of my life, but can lightning strike twice? Activision is hoping so, having this morning announced plans to run a Call of Duty: World at War multiplayer beta sometime in the month of October. The beta will be limited to the Xbox 360 and PC versions (sorry PlayStation 3, Wii, DS, Intellivision, etc.) and promises action in both the Pacific and European theaters in which the final game will take place. You can register for a token by signing up at the official Call of Duty website, or by preordering the game through GameStop.

I'm still not sure how i feel about this game.  WWII again ?? But its on the COD4 engine...good. But Treyarch is making it ? Bad ?

Nice!

If the response from the press is any sort of barometer, this will probably help the game.  It seems like most people were initially bummed that it's a WWII game from Treyarch, but have since come around after playing it.

I'm definitely signing up for the beta at least...

Registered on the website. Hope I get in. Still think pre-ordering for a beta is incredibly stupid.

I am really looking forward to this game! Even though it's ww2 AGAIN, I think I can look past that and enjoy it.

Yeah, Activision has proven over and over agian that they couldn't care less about PS3 owners, and in turn I couldn't care less about this game.

I just gave Activision my e-mail address. That was a mistake...

WW2 or not, if it's a good game it's a good game. Hopefully it will be.
