    Assassin's Creed: Revelations is the fourth installment in the Assassin's Creed franchise and the final entry in Ezio Auditore's main storyline. A few levels also put players back in control of the original Assassin's Creed's Altair, and depict his rise to the Mentorship of the Crusades-era Brotherhood of Assassins.

    According to an article on Kotaku , Ezio is on the hunt for five artifacts that "hold the key to the future of the Assassins."  The writer theorizes these will likely be how Altair gets involved. 
     
    What if these artifacts are pieces that make up a primitive Animus? Ezio would be able to relive events from Altair.  It also ties into my current theory, that the Assassins of the past are actually the modern day Templars, and Desmond is on the wrong side.
