The just released Assassin's creed 3 trailer got me thinking about how Desmond's story will be finalised. Who is he and what will happen to him? This led me to a Gamespot video where one of the writers of the Franchise explains why and how Desmond is special. The video explains his ancestry and shows why Ezio is not in the same bloodline as Altair and logically Connor from AC 3 isn't as well. The video was posted in October 2011 and maybe some of you guys missed. The video and links are posted below

Having seen the video what do you guys think?

I feel that the explanations given make sense and very shrewdly allow the creators to make as many sequels as they want. This has me cautious though because I feel that because of all the possible ancestors Desmond may have, his story will never be fully explained in AC 3. Oh well I guess I'll just have to wait and see how they wrap up the story. Also does anyone know of a good video series that explains the Assassin's creed story so far?

NB: With Assassins creed maybe wrapping up this year (links to 2012 and what not) what other trilogies or games do you feel have wrapped up their stories well? How did the Ezio trilogy wrap up for you?

I did see a similar video to this last year, it's a good explanation.

It doesn't talk about Connor, it just talks about how Desmond's blood line works and how all these different lines of people with eagle vision converge onto him.

The video doesn't talk about Connor specifically, but the Ubisoft writer talks about Desmond's ancestors in general of which Connor is a part of.
