New Assassins Creed to be revealed in May?

Ubisofts CEO Yves Guillemot today revealed that there was in fact another Assassins Creed coming out this calendar year. Now this doesn't surprise me but I'm very much looking forward to the reveal. I'm a fan of the franchise and been wondering what they're going to do with the latest installment. Will it be modern day? Another Animus session as well as some modern day? Or will it be the same and we take on the role of someone fighting the Templars in unannounced? Personally I'm hoping for a mix of both. Guess we'll all know in a couple of shorts months. What are you hoping for?

I'm hoping for Assassins. New Era, and maybe some modern day stuff.

Would love it if they'd wrap up the main storyline before the games start getting stale.

@hexx462: Well they did say Desmond was going to be a trilogy but they hope to leave it open to keep exploring the world of Assassins Creed. Basically they're not going to let this money cow die but they will let Desmond die.

@02sfraser: That's my hope. They can milk the franchise until it does and I won't care as long as what has been set up resolves before that happens (and is in a stellar game).

I hope the finish off the trilogy in the modern day, my deepest fear is that they will do a Kingdom Hearts on it and milk it with pointless shitty side stuff for the next 8 years. :S

I don't care about the dumbass metastory with aliens and magic apples. I just wanna run on some Asian-ass roofs in a ninja suit.

I'm not as psyched about this years release as I was for Brotherhood. It's not substantiated, but I feel like they can't keep improving the franchise like they did from 2 - b.hood while doing this year after year.

I fully expect them to exploit the hell out of the franchise, just have a bit of hope they they will finish up what was started. Though I'll continue to play them as long as they're fun.

Ubisoft executives confirmed that Ubisoft will release a new Assassin's Creed game during its next fiscal year, which starts on April 1, 2011, and ends on March 31, 2012. Ubisoft gave no further details about the title, promising more information when it reports its full-year earnings report in May.

Better be AC3

@Mordukai: As long as they improve the series and keep it fresh unlike CoD I really don't mind. I'm not one to complain about a good thing.
