Sequel to Atelier Rorona and another installment of the Atelier franchise. In Atelier Totori, the story revolves around a girl named Totori, who plans to become an adventurer in hopes to find her mother who went missing years ago.
I need to play more Atelier games. I've only played one and while I thoroughly enjoyed it, the game play wasn't all that deep. Well, it was a DS title; Atelier Annie. I'd want to try a console version next, though.
Oh interesting. I want to get Rorona eventually. I enjoyed Recettear, and I believe it shares many similar aspects to that game. If you haven't already, I suggest taking a look at PixelPrinny's First Impression blog on Rorona. She really dug it and got me interested in the game, as well as many others.
So far I've only played Atelier Iris 3. Haven't finished it yet though. Want to finish that up and then get into Atelier Annie. New games in the series aren't my focus right now.
Was Atelier Rorona any good? Is it worth checking out?
I enjoyed it, not really played anything like it before, it kind of follows the Persona 3/4 style time management system mixed with a deep crafting mechanic. However the turn based combat was too simple and not entirely necessary (which is being fixed in Totori). Has the usual NIS style humour with some good characters.
If it's cheap and you don't have anything against cute JRPGs, go for it. I will pick up Totori for sure.
