Telltale Games' Back to the Future episodic series will kick off this December, according to Joystiq. The studio has announced on its blog that the PC and Mac will see releases first, while the magical Cupertino tablet (!) and PSN are slated to play catch up.

In addition to revealing the games' platforms, Telltale has also revealed pre-order details. For the price of 25 bones, it looks like you'll get the entire series (we're checking on this), a complimentary copy of Telltale "Pilot" puzzle game Puzzle Agent, access to a special "insider" Back to the Future message board where you'll be able to interact with Telltale staff, and that feeling you get when you've contributed to a worthy cause. One dollar from each pre-order, according to the post, will go to Michael J. Fox's foundation for Parkinson's disease research. Here's a link to the official website if you're interested.

Pretend like you haven't seen this image before.
Pretend like you haven't seen this image before.

== TEASER ==It's tough to get excited about the game when we haven't seen it yet, but there is a choice bit of audio out there in cyberspace that might put you over the edge. Voice actor A.J. Locascio does an unreal Michael J. Fox impersonation. Dude even freaked out Doc. Check this out:

I know I shouldn't feel this way at the moment, but... I really just want Jurassic Park information now. Tell me Malcolm is the star, Telltale. And please tell me dinosaurs and skirts will be mentioned in the same sentence at least twice. Tell me!

    UPDATE: Forgot a citation.
UPDATE 2: It appears as though you can now claim to have purchased the BTTF Blu-ray trilogy collection and enter in its non-unique code on the BTTF: the game website. Check out this post for more information.

Has Telltale shown off any footage or screenshots from the Back to the Future game yet (barring the 'behind the scenes' fluff)? I've looked around online and found nothing. Seems very odd when the game is only 2 months away and they're already taking pre-orders.

Would love to be corrected on this....

AJ does an utterly RIDICULOUS Marty McFly, I couldn't believe my ears.
I don't think I could be more excited, all the parts are there for something great.
    -Telltale is making it
    -Chistopher Lloyd is the Doc
    -Bob Gale is involved
-AJ does the best Marty voice I've ever heard.
    -Art style looks awesome

There's been no footage of the actual game yet, but the trailer is expected soon (today?).

But if your familiar with the rest of Telltales work, you've got nothing to worry about.  All of their games have been excellent and they managed to continue two other very beloved series'..  Sam & Max and Monkey Island flawlessly.  Probably better than even the original developers would have.

    Already have mine pre-ordered :)

    @Zaph:

Yup, this isn't at all odd for Telltale, actually. They have a very different production schedule to most developers, which should mean that right about now they are heavy into  finishing the main construction work on the first episode, and will be spending the next month or so furiously polishing (while building the second episode, and starting to go into major production on the 3rd), so it will have only been very recently that they'd have anything to show aside from concept art (those videos were probably done a short while ago).

But don't fret, this is how Telltale work, it's what enables them to actually make regular, monthly, episodic games work.

Got my telltale account setup,  redeemed the code and BTTF ep 1 is waiting in my account to download on launch day.  free of charge,  no credit card required.

crazy that they made the codes non-unique.

Also,  i'm not sure if it's the final pricing,  but before the promotional code was applied, the cost of the game was listed at $8.95.   that may be the pre order price though, so it may change for release.

Get Hype! I love Telltales work on Sam & Max and I enjoyed Tales of Monkey Island thoroughly. I also happen to be a big BTTF fan so this is great!

    @This_Dude:

I think that is the price per episode. If you pre order the series you pay $24.95

I imagine it will, but if you buy from Telltale, you can also get a boxed version once all the episodes are released, if you're willing to pay for the shipping.

You are wrong.  Ian Malcolm is a cool guy in the first movie but the Lost World kills his character.  Its like he can't shut up and stop making smart allecky quips.
Oh and what the fuck.... jesus man, that is Marty McFly.... he's a witch!
I just wish they didn't make you buy the whole Trilogy on blu ray.  80 bucks is steep for 3 movies.

I agree but we still havent seen anything of the actual game itself.  I'm not doubting TTG or anything but you can't help but get a little concerned when the game's release is so close.

Yeah, we don't really know much about gameplay. But here's what I figure:
    a) It's Back to the Future
    b) It's Telltale
    c) First episode free!

So if somehow it turns out not good, at least I've only spent $0 for the first episode.

Are these aimed at little kids who have never heard of a franchise from almost thirty years ago or are they aimed at nostalgic middle aged guys who want a little more 80s flicks in-between heavy Tron masturbation sessions?

I was born the year after the original movie was released and it's still one of my favourite movies of all time.  I know kids these days who love the movies just as much.

So..  it's aimed at anyone who isn't a cynical bastard?
