Some games have one kind of mini-game or bonus stage that recurs between each of the main levels. It is an extra chance to get extra points, lives or other goodies that is clearly set apart from the main action of the game.
The shark is an underwater animal that is often stereotyped for its vicious killing of prey. In video games, they are used as enemies in underwater levels or a plot device used to keep the player away from the ocean.
