Arkham Asylum is simply an incredible achievement...

Wow, a game based on a comic book, you know thats gonna suck; wait what? I cant believe im saying this, but Batman Arkham Asylum is Amazing! Why? honestly, i cant really explain it, you just HAVE to try this sucker out. You probably expect this to be a simple and linear game with boring art and level design, but its the exact opposite. Yeah, its an open world; but in a metroid-bioshock kind of way. To put it in a more simple prospective, it has Bioshock's art, Metroid's exploring, and Assassin's Creed combat; but it doesnt feel like its copying from them. Mainly cause they added a few brilliant ideas like the riddler's 240 riddles, which i expect future games to copy from; and a few short but brilliant gameplay scenes. For example, the scarecrow parts, there short but it just makes you wanna play the game more just to see whats in store for you. In my opinion, thats what makes certain scenes so memerable it'll be very little in the game, and you just want to play through the game again just to do those parts(it reminds me of MGS4's metal gear 1 on 1 fight and God of War 2's flying scenes...short but so so so sweet and memorable. Ok enough with that, on to the gameplay. Basically its fighting, stealth, and exploring; and thats all you need in an adventure game and rocksteady does it so so well. The graphics and art are superb, and the sound plus voicing acting is right on. Controls are smooth, and it has the right amount of value to add it in the excellent games list :) I already title this game,"This years Bioshock and Dead Space", for one good reason, its this year's shockingly great game. Oh and there are some flaws in the game. The bosses are pretty good but not great, the ending isn't really solid per-say, and i felt that they could have added a little more space in arkham island even though it makes you feel like you really explored and experienced the island.  I recommend this game to all the true gamers out there, you really shouldn't miss this one. Thank you rocksteady for finally making a great comic book game :)...........

Holy 5 star review Batman! 0

Batman, Batman, Batman! Where to begin with Batman: Arkham Asylum. First off this game is well worth the price of admission. From the opening interactive cinematic that has you as Batman ecsorting the Joker back into the bowels of the namesake asylum, to the final ( & somewhat) anti-climatic batlle with ol' Ruby Lips himself, this is a ride worth taking. Not since MGS4 has a game pulled you into it's storyline with great voice acting & dialogue that is this crisp, engaging, & in the ...

The game Gotham needs, or the game Gotham deserves? 0

I always envisioned that the ideal Batman game would be encapsulated in a sandbox. Imagine it now; patrolling the streets of in the Batmobile, beating up thugs and keeping the citizens safe from crime and itself. Unfortunately, recent sandbox games, both with real superheroes (Spiderman: Web of Shadows, Superman Returns) and imitation heroes (Infamous, Prototype) have taught me better. All of those games featured redundant gameplay mechanics realized the notion that the life of a superhero is...
