Batman: Arkham City Lockdown is a 3D brawler developed by NetherRealm and published by WB for all iOS devices on December 7, 2011. A tie-in and prequel to Batman: Arkham City, the game features a one-on-one combat system similar to the Infinity Blade series. Set shortly before the events of Batman: Arkham City, players play as the titular Batman as he sets out through Gotham City to capture supervillains who escaped from Arkham Asylum (mainly Two-Face and The Joker) while surviving an encounter with Solomon Grundy and an assassination attempt by Deathstroke. Later updates added two new missions, as players attempt to apprehend Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy.

Players can earn WayneTech points (through playing the game or through real money) to upgrade Batman's abilities and gadgets. After the first game update, players can also purchase extra costumes for Batman (similar to the extra costumes in Batman: Arkham City), which also grant him different base stats. The game features a New Game+ system, allowing players to start over with an upgraded Batman and tougher challenges.

Kano from the 2011 Mortal Kombat game makes a crossover appearance as a hidden enemy.
