Kotaku ran an article that Rocksteady is staffing up for a big triple A 2014 release date game.
What made it interesting a job applications leaked that it's sequel not a prequel to Arkham City. Harley's Revenge left the door open for something happening to a more brooding darker batman after the death of the joker. And of course yet another batch of comic book creators tapped to come in to make multiple content for the release. Interesting enough was Ed Brubaker, known for his amazing work for Gotham Central and Catwoman reboot with Darwyn Cooke. I bring that up because Black Mask was really fascinating of an enemy in that comic then he was in Arkham Origins.
But that doesn't really matter, considering how many times they reference Jeph Loeb and Paul Dini but the games don't reflect their style. Instead we get some video game ass video game story where your locked up in some dumb invisible walls.
So anyway, the rumor is sequel to Arkham City, and then what? WB Games is willing to take crazy risks without feeling tied down the licensing, Lego Batman 2 just became a massive Justice League story, Infinite Crisis MMOBA, Gotham Imposters, Injustice. How crazy will Rocksteady go or how safe will stick with batman? Remember Arkham Asylum as an adaptation to Grant Morrison story is really off, so it's not impossible Batman and the Justice League.
Maybe a proper Hush adaptation? Scarecrow was left unresolved, and Falcone funded him. Actually Long Halloween Adaptation this time around?
