Keep these things in mind:
Disregard the XBLA's current issues, unless you think they will be a long-term thing.
I haven't played the game on XLBA (haven't been able to get a game in), so I don't know how it plays there.
Played the PS3 version, and like the controls, for the most part.
I have more friends on Xbox, but I don't know how many of them are willing to play it with me.
I don't have enough money to allocate to getting both versions.
I know that at some point I'm going to have to make this decision myself, but I 'd like to hear some thoughts.
Battlefield 1943
Game » consists of 4 releases. Released Jul 08, 2009
Return to the Pacific Theater in this simpler, downloadable, console-exclusive sequel to the massive World War II first-person shooter Battlefield 1942. It was later shut down on December 2023.
Which platform should I get this game on?
The PS3 killrate is about 2/3rds XBL's, so you might have to wait an extra day or two for Coral Sea. Whoop de doo.
Despite the hype that nobody you know is playing, there's no problem finding competition on PSN. Game looks fine too, though I don't have the 360 version to compare or the hyper-eyesight to examine the tiniest details if I did.
There's no right answer for everybody. Go whichever way you prefer to play your games.
The 360 has a larger player base and will get coral sea first but nobody plays as a squad or so i've heard. The Ps3 version has less players and it will be a while before they get coral sea but from my experience there is a lot more teamwork in squads. I hope this helped your decision making.
Well I play on the PS3 and it's great, I just got off, so whatever platform you want to get it on really, and if you want the new map first play on the 360.
The game just makes me want to play battlefield 1942, it feels so watered down... but I guess it wasn't meant to be a "full" game.
the good 'ol days of 1942...

You could always wait until September and get it on the PC. Apparently the reason for the delayed PC release is so DICE can make it more friendly for the PC gaming community which may interest you.
Otherwise I'd say get it on the 360 if that is where you have most of your online and offline friends to play with.
If playing with your friends is really important to you then go 360. Otherwise I'd wait for the PC version. I know that wasn't one of your options but I'll just throw it out there anyway.
