With a lot of high tier, PC focused games coming out in the next few months, I've started having a bit of a battle with myself over what platform to get these games on (BF3, Skyrim mainly).
On the one hand I have a capable gaming PC and everyone seems to be saying that BF3 should only be considered on a PC. Part of me however, can't be bothered with the hassle of PC gaming, being hunched over a desk staring at a monitor. So whilst I understand BF3 (and other games) will be technically superior on PC, I can't help but think the overall experience and immersion factor will be much greater with my comfy seat, big screen, quality audio and hassle free system console.
Has anyone else had this same thought? What was your decision?
Battlefield 3
Game » consists of 15 releases. Released Oct 25, 2011
Battlefield 3 is DICE's third numerical installment in the Battlefield franchise. It features a single player and co-operative campaign, as well as an extensive multiplayer component.
So, who's buying on console?
I haven't decided whether to get it on PC or PS3. I'm waiting for release so I can make a more informed decision.

You say you have a capable gaming PC? then you must have a TV card installed.
Hook your PC up to your TV, sit back in your couch, connect your Xbox controller to the PC and play like you're playing a console, only the game will look better, run better and support 64 players. Great Sucess!
Don't forget that we're gonna be having 64 player bombing runs twice a week (i'm considering buying a BF3 Giant Bomb server. Already working on organizing the events), so you don't wanna miss out on that.

At this point I'm only moderately enthusiastic for BF3, I'll get it on console if I'm at BestBuy one day and have nothing to buy (which I doubt, have you seen the fall lineup??)

My Pc is the equivalent of having two rocks taped together and then I imagine what's going on so uh Xbox.
PS3 at first. Although, I got a PC that exceeds recommended spec. For PC later maybe, but only if it will show up on steam after all (so probably never). Just like shooters on consoles better. PCs are IMHO for more complicated games. +TV +armchair +nice sound system
Skyrim will gon on PC though.
PC. I know its super odd, but i'm so fed up with being bothered by my ''xboxlive friends'' when I play games. So now, i'll be an elitist and play this game maxed out to the stars. Alone. With the one or two people I know that can run this game on high. That way : nokids.
I'll get MW3 for the 360 though, this game is running on an old Quake 3 engine, so who cares what platform you play it on ; it's still bellow average everything on the market today, so I don't mind running it on my console.

You could just buy a better chair for playing at your PC. I've got a nice desk and chair and it's super comfortable playing at my PC. As for staring at a monitor, well, I assume you don't play on a TV with your eyes closed? I don't get that part. The myth that it's uncomfortable or inconvenient to play on a PC is wrong.
OK thanks for the responses guys, let me clear a few things up:
Hooking my PC up to my TV, whilst an elegant solution, is not practical given the fact that I'm not the only person that uses the PC.
@sharkeh: What I mean is that my TV is a lot bigger than my PC monitor, meaning I can sit back and relax. The same can't be said for a PC monitor.

PC gaming actually feels sexy
@blacklabeldomm: It's super easy. If you can play BF3 and your card doesn't support something that can easily be passed through to a modern TV, your using a crazy weird card. Juat hook it up to your PC, use a gamepad. It's crazy easy, and if you don't like playing games on your pc like that, then boom. It probably wouldn't even be that pricey to keep your pc where it is and run a second line to your TV.
Probably PC version so i can get some of that visual splender. But on the otherhand i will have close friends who will be playing it on PS3, so i'm kind of torn on that. I played BC2 on PS3. I got BC2 for PC also but after playing it for that long on PS3 the PC version just felt awkward to me, the running felt weird and having to hold down the crouch button was annoying as hell.
There could have been an option to toggle crouch on and off, but i never bothered looking.
