    Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is the second installment in this spin-off Battlefield series. It has a more serious campaign and a vastly expanded multiplayer system.

    Why are they making this seem super serious?

    The trailers they've released so far are way too serious for this game. What happened to all the comedy trailers they did for the first one? Remember those? They were awesome.  And isn't Battlefield (at least the BC spin-off) about crazy stuff happening all around you?
     
    and wasn't the idea behind the latest traielr already done in the Uncharted 2 multiplayer reveal trailer? Just saying...

    @buzz_killington: The only trailers they've released so far have been multiplayer trailers. They haven't given us any information regarding the singleplayer plot.

    DICE is convinced this game will "blow Modern Warfare 2 out of the water" so I suspect they are trying to make it more serious to compete with Infinity Ward or something.

    They can't really do that if if the two release dates are 4 months apart.
