A BioShock movie has been common knowledge for a while, but it looks like a director change has taken place. Originally, Gore Verbinski was going to be at the healm, but I guess he dropped and just stayed on as Producer for whatever reason. Hopefully this movie turns out good so it can help get rid of the "video game movies suck" stereotype.
This is a hoax or miss information on IMDB's part....honestly I don't consider this news worthy, since they are suppose to be making a Dead to Rights movie and a Uncharted movie....but neither of those have seen any real news stories.

Im a huge fan of the first Bioshock and I must say I really dont mind they are making a movie about Bioshock, if the movie will suck then I guess its better than nothing (and you dont have to watch it unless your name is Ryan Davis) and if it will turn out to be a good movie then we all win.
@Mr_Skeleton: well put, and as much as i love the first game, i just cant see this being good. if it does end up good however i will come back and eat my words on this here forum.
" @CitizenKane: im with you but, games with first person perspectives can be hard to translate to film. "
Well, for a lot of FPSs, you know what the protagonist looks like( Halo(sort of), Half-Life, etc.), so that eases some of the narrative hiccups in the game-to-movie translation.
