BB:CS2 is now available to download for LIVE users reports iPLAYWINNER.  While the update is free (v1.03), Platinum, the new character for CS 2, will cost 560 MS Points.

    This except on a console.
    This except on a console.

P.S.  Why is there a CS 2 page?  Shouldn't the info be on the CS 1 page like the Arcade Edition info is on the Super page for SF4?

I can't remember if the first update was a patch or download but if it was a patch it seems that PS3 users could still get it. Not Platinum though, we have to wait for that.

Edit: Also, according to this the PS3 update will be available on the 12th

The update will actually cost you about 18 bucks. 6 bucks for each of the three new characters.

Granted you bought Continum Shift in the first place... which was just Calamity Trigger with three new characters and altered movesets for 40 bucks. Managed to get us to pay full price for Blazblue twice. Ugh.

LOL DIDNT NOTICE THAT IM SO STUPID

Well, there are a lot of people in the scene that don't like this game.

Not sure if a mod can fix that, but if they can, please do.  I didn't mean to do that.

I think it's okay for CS2 to be a separate game, because it's being released for 3DS as well.

Also @The_Joker: CS had a completely new story. They also added legion mode from the PSP version. Then you add in the three new characters, and updated movesets and it's a decent amount of content. I think paying $40 for Continuum shift was fine.

I agree about the worth of BB:CS as well. The story mode adds quite a lot of content and my favourite addition was the challenge mode. Actually learning how to do things with a character made the game so much more playable for me.

@Sasran: It really comes down to what content is valuable from person to person. A new story might be really interesting to some people, but I tend to prefer more characters. I don't think the story is bad. I just believe the cast of characters in this game is incredibly sparse. I was actually a little offended that all the new characters (Platinum aside) were present in the events of the last game's plot. More to the point, the story mode they added was really neat, but at least some of that was lost because of the lazy way Blazblue animates story between fights. I really hope that by Blazblue 2 proper they use full animation to tell the story.

The arguement can be made that this game competes with MK9 and SSFIV which have had WAY WAY WAY more chances to prefect the formula. It really is the new MMO vs WoW situation at that point.

@The_Joker: I'd love for the story mode to be animated but I imagine it would cost a lot of money to make it all into anime.

As for the amount of characters, yeah, the value differs for me. I will only pick up and play one fighter and after that the other characters don't even matter to me so BlazBlue's small roster doesn't bother me.

@JJOR64: Depending on how Arcade Edition shakes out on consoles, it might actually deserve its own page, just as Continuum Shift 2 has one.

Wait, so the 3DS will have Street Fighter IV, DOA and a BlazBlue game? I'm not sure how much longer I'll be able to hold out from buying it.

It's bizarre how quickly it's turning into a portable fighting game system.

Yeah, it's super tempting. The only reason I'm holding out is that there aren't any other games out there I'd really be interested in buying for it, at least not right now.

@Sasran: I tend to agree with you because of how differantly they play. The issue is that whenever I try to introduce other people to Blazblue they never seem to have been able to find a single fighter they associated with. This has happened to me multiple times now, and it really blows because Blazblue's online play is in my opinion it's strongest property. It has the strongest netcode of any fighter on the market right now, but the gap between fighting coms and taking it online is huge.

To wrap all this up, if you bought Calamity and Continuum on the 360, and then buy this 3DS, they've won. I'd be lying if I said SF didn't already "beat" me too though. lol I guess I'm part of the problem.
