    Bowser's Castle is the home and hide-out of one of the most well known villains of all games in the Mario franchise, Bowser. While the castle has been remodeled through many different games, there are a few main elements that remain constant. The castle is made of almost entirely stone, while lava pits are scattered throughout. Some of the main henchmen that can be found in Bowser's Castle are Thwomps, Thwimps, and the persistent Dry Bones. Mario's main objective while traveling through Bowser's Castle: Defeat Bowser and rescue Princess Peach.

    In the Mario Kart series of games, it is also a racetrack where racers must dodge fireballs, lava pits and Thwomps in order to cross the finish line to win the race. In the Mario Baseball series, it is a stadium where they play baseball and 2 minigames: Star Dash and Bowser Pinball. In Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games, it is a stadium that appears in the Dream Ice Hockey Event. It also appeared in all 3 Mario & Luigi games.
