would love an answer to this considering how cheap that game has got, cheaper than most XBLA games now

Personally I think the time for Brink has passed.

No idea if people are still playing it, but the game really wasn't very good. Even half price, I wouldn't bother with it.

If it's not dead yet, it will be soon.

Dont bother It was practically dead two weeks after it came out.

Patches went through, not sure about the community though

I rented it about a month ago and never once found a game with more then 4 people.

It was an easy 1000 gamerscore to bust out in the first few days after it came out. I assume it's dead now. It was near unplayable at launch.

Reading a Neogaf OT yesterday, some guy played for over an hour on Xbox Live and didn't get anything but bots. On Steam it has fallen of the most played chart, Alitude is at the bottom with 200 or so players so that means there is less than 200 people playing Brink worldwide.

I still play weekly games with some guys from Cooptimus - can't really speak about the general player pool though. 
Ironically the muted mics by default (which sounded great on paper) didn't help the game at all, made the teams very disconnected.

You need to pick whatever Brink's equivalent of Big Battle to get full games, by default it caps at 4 v 4(humans, rest filled in by AI) to keep connections more stable.

TF2 going free-to-play combined with he fact that it has a much, much lower barrier of entry on the hardware side of things has put the final nails in Brink's coffin and then some.

That game was kinda dead on arrival.

It was never really alive, was it? 1 weeks in the spotlight and then everyone forgot about it.

Well I picked it up at Gamestop for 25 today. The community seems to be alive and well.

I used to own it on the ps3 and I can honestly say it had one if the worst match making systems for a multiplayer game. I tried to fool myself thinking it was a good game , since wolfeinstien et is one of my favorites. After a week or so my delusion passed and I realized if I can only play on average with 1-4 other ppl the game is simply busted

@Daylightdroid: Hell, Wolf ET still has a bunch of players. Just play that.

Got it practically free with the Id/Bethesda Steam Pack. Played it a bit. Not good at all.
