Fox News is warning parents about the impending release of Bulletstorm in a report alleging that videogames are actually responsible for an increase in the incidence of rape. (Yes, I am  making this up.)

In all fairness, Bulletstorm is not the poster child for videogames that don't make parents nervous. The new shooter from People Can Fly and Epic bills itself as the only game in which you can blow off a man's bunghole, after all. Shockingly, that's what caught the attention of Fox News, which is warning parents that the game's "Skill Shots," with names like "Topless" and "Gang Bang," conflate extreme violence with explicit sex acts that its experts say can cause serious damage to young minds.

"If a younger kid experiences Bulletstorm's explicit language and violence, the damage could be significant," said Dr. Jerry Weichman of the Hoag Neurosciences Institute in Southern California. "Violent videogames like Bulletstorm have the potential to send the message that violence and insults with sexual innuendos are the way to handle disputes and problems."

I love the free market sometimes. Funny and enjoyable game though. Strangely, despite the war mongers at fox news, I don't feel like a rapist.

This is pretty old news

These articles just seem lazy now.  None of this has mattered since the Mass Effect incident.  People expect Fox News to be outraged, so they have to be outraged, then people who write about video games have to post the Fox News article and be outraged about it in turn.  
 
Just ignore them and they'll go away.

They should get a quote from an actual rapist over whether or not he enjoys Bulletstorm.

As a non American, i cant grasp why Fox News keeps existing. Maybe its cause i only see the bad side of Fox News all the time. But they just seem very ignorant to me. Don't know if thats the case or not.

I won't be playing bulletstorm and I still feel like a rapist.

Rock Paper Shotgun have done a pretty sterling effort seeking out sources and getting quotes from the supposed "experts" that did the research behind the Fox news scare-mongering. It's pretty interesting to read, though it's nothing especially new as videogames have been the the scapegoat for all societies issues for quite some time.

I know that Fox News has reported negative things on this game like most of the "violent" games out there but I think there is an important statement in this article that you guys seem to have over-looked...(Yes, I am  making this up.)

OH god! noo! i don't wanna be a rapist!!!  Epic should really put warning labels on the front of these games if they're going to cause me to rape things.

I think telling parents to not let their kids play Bulletstorm is probably not a bad thing.

what are they thinking? dumb ass? it's 'M' mature rate. they don't even know about this? if they say that, how about movie, music, even book huh? that doesn't make any sense. they think that they are smarter than the rest of people because they work for media. what a dumb nuts. there are so many intelligent, smart people in other fields. they forgot how they are slavers by being dragging. 

It's a rated "M" game.  OF course kids shouldn't play it, it's not for kids.
