It has a 2.8 right now based on 541 user reviews and the negative reviews keep stacking up. Lol. That is kind of crazy. The internet is a jungle out there

@TeamJersey: it looks like it you know what should happen Metacritic needs to put a 100 word minimum for their user reviews and not allow people to not write reviews.

I'm just more surprised that Metacritic, after several such attempts in the past, just sits back and takes it. Especially for such a profile game... not that it particularly matyers, MW3 will sell like discount crack at an addict convention regardless of Metacritic score.

The last modern military shooter I played was GRAW and I have never played a Call of Duty or a Battlefield game. So, coming at this year's shooters fresh, I'm probably going to get Battlefield 3. Only because it's got freaking tanks and planes, and omg it looks amazing.

It's been plainly obvious for quite some time that Metacritic user scores are absolute shit. People are still surprised when big-ticket games get shat on in user reviews? It's pretty common by now.

Way to "fight the man", internet. There's no way Activision could stand up to the powerful blow of low user scores on Metacritic. Nosiree.

I think this article by Patrick fairly well sums up why at the very least the developer has to give a shit about metacritic scores, be they user reviews or not. What I think will be telling is the net evolution of this system of aggregation. In any case, while I'm confident that MW 3 is a good game that I'll end up buying, this game was just as incapable of being out-right bad as it was to be ground breaking... unless you look at the sales... it will probably break those...

It's losers who hate Call of Duty's popularity and aren't content to just recognize that it's a solid game that just isn't their cup of tea, much like my option of Battlefield. They are voting MW3 a 0 or a 1 without ever having played the game. People who actually are fans of the game couldn't care less what the user score on metacritic happens to be, and are probably too busy playing the game to vote if they did care.

I'm enjoying the game, and I'll tell you right now that I have no intention of ever submitting a user score to metacritic.

Review bombing happens to pretty much every major release. There's nothing noteworthy about this.

COD fans are probably busy playing the MP right now, COD haters are probably Trolling Metacritic spamming it with negative reviews. I'm just sitting here having a beer and watching the cyber-world of fanboyism tear itself apart once again.....what a view....breathtaking.

I purchased both BF3 and MW3. I have to say I'm enjoying MW3 a whole heck of a lot more, despite the fact that it's the same formula recycled over the past 4 -5 years. It just... works. The game is snappy and fun, and easy to get into after a day at work. I use to love Battlefield, but as I get older, I find myself having less patience for games. BF3 is just too slow and the learning curve is much steeper. It just loses my interest before I can get into it.

I think it's pretty sad that some people have nothing better to do with their lives than troll on a site most people have never heard of or care about.
