I suppose CASTLEvania is a good bet.

Your mom herp derp.

Ok seriousness. My friend put me on to Haunting Ground recently, and that has a neat castle to explore in an open world-ish fashion (I think, I'm only a few hours in).

Virtual Hydlide had some brutal difficulty that made the castles/mansions so much more intense than they ought to be.

Mind Maze, The castle game in Encarta.
The encyclopedia software? That game seems like a Mario Is Missing style bundle.

I loved the castle in Mario 64.

Hyrule Castle in The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past is pretty awesome. So is the castle in World 1 in Demon's Souls, and the castle in Devil May Cry.

I'm gonna go with Rune. Because I unreal edited some seriously amazing castles into the game.
