    June 1st. You know, its probably bullshit, but on the off chance that this might be true....that would be pretty sweet, no?
     
    The boxart looks terrible like a placeholder, and the date is definitely a placeholder, but at least it might mean that they're planning to localize this.

    I'm going to say thats just retailers making up the date for preorders. They do that all the time.

    June 1st, huh... Well, it's definitely a placeholder date (or is it?), but it might indicate its approximate release date.

    Yeah, probably, but do retailers ever do that when a game isn't announced yet for the west?

    Mmmmm I'm going to say it's not correct, there is a lot of text and dialogue to redo in that game before it gets a western release and unless they have been translating it for at least a while before it came out in japan I can't imagine they would get all that done (or done well at least) by June 1st. 
     
    Not saying I wouldn't like it to come out then, but I'd rather they took there time over it if it will make for a better game.

    Yes, this is not unheard of; in fact, retailers sometimes create listings for games that haven't been announced, period. The forthcoming Ico/Shadow of the Colossus HD collection, for example, first appeared at Walmart.com (of all places). The following week, it was officially announced at the Tokyo Game Show.

    Now, June first is a Wednesday, so we can rule that out as a potential release date. Ultimately, though… anyone who's still skeptical as to whether or not this game will ever see release outside of Japan needs to go ahead and relax. Over the years, Atlus have localized numerous titles that are far more obscure, and let us also keep in mind that Catherine is currently the best-selling game in Japan.

    No way Atlus is going to localize it that fast. I was thinking Q4 at the earliest. But hey, if it does come out and it's done properly, great.

    That's good that it's those guys making the game, but it's an action/adventure game. The Persona guys are RPG people.

    They do know how to write their stories so I've noticed. I think it's less about the game part and more about the character interactions you'll experience in between those sections. If Persona 4 is any indicator, then I'm sure the cast of characters will be just as memorable. And Q*Bert or whatever.
     
    I just want a damn good crazy story and I know Atlus will deliver.

    It's just a placeholder date, but I am anxiously awaiting them announcing a release date for a Western release.

    Definitely. Hell, the biggest thing pointing towards a Western release is the fact that they even bothered with a 360 version since those don't really sell in Japan.

    They already made a port for it for the Japanese releases. As we all know, 360 titles sell like shit in Japan, so by porting it they've already made a decision to bring it to other regions. 
     
    I doubt it's even coming out this year, or if it does, it'll be a holiday release.

    Also, did you see that in Wikipedia they said Atlus officially confirmed that this won't come in the West? That is some real-big-ball-blasting-bullshit.

    Why are people taking this as confirmation that it'll never see light in the west? I'd like to think they wouldn't tip-toe around by saying "at this time" unless they had some plan to localize it in the future. Then again, it could be typical PR bullshit as well.
