    The first game developed by Atlus for the PS3/Xbox 360. Made by the Persona Team, The game is an "adult oriented" action-adventure/horror game with puzzle platforming stages.

    This game isn't officially out in the US yet right?

    Just yesterday I went to my local game shop (Game Time it's called) and they had PS3 copies of Catherine just sitting on their wall. Chances are they just imported the Japanese version and just stocked those right? Saves a ton of time on my end if I decide to buy it.

    Anyway, just to make sure I wasn't seeing things/crazy, I went back to Game Time to see if I did see... what I saw.

    It was indeed an import copy of the Japanese version, and was very appropriately very expensive (Jesus).

    And so that this trip wasn't a complete waste, I got a copy of Dead Space 2 for $40! It would've been weird if I just came over and asked to take pictures of this game and just left, so I had to buy something, you know.

    Gamestops usually put the empty boxes up on shelves. Maybe you saw one of those and thought it was the game?

    It isn't GameStop, it's Game Time. And I know how weird that sounds, I'll probably drop by tomorrow and take a picture just to make sure I'm not seeing things.

    @rjayb89: Did you ask if they had physical discs or just the box? Because some stores usually have boxes only long before a game's release date to advertise it for people to pre-order without having anything in those boxes.

    Or it could be as you said and that they imported the Japanese version. If it's a small store and not affiliated with any huge chains they could possibly get away with selling imports. They only had the PS3 version, right? Because that would at least be region-free. It'd be pretty messed up if they sold Xbox 360 copies to unsuspecting customers who would then realize their console is region-locked.

    But yes, localization of these games take a long time and I believe they said it'd be around July when we'd see U.S. Catherine.

    Yeah, I'm so gonna drop by tomorrow. Just checked out the Catherine page here and noticed the US release date. This game store is also near some Japanese import store that has a bunch of anime I've never heard of (and I only know of things like Naruto, Pokemon, and Ben 10 off the top of my head right now) so that's probably why those copies are there in the first place.

    They were already done with VA recording like, a month ago according to an intern.

    Check the rating+ the text above the title  In the JP version has "キャサリン " written. Its probably(definitely) and import or a mock-up. Game isn't out for a couple of months.

    Those are empty boxes. They put those up months before the release date of a game -- and often before a release date for a game is even known.
