It seems like the Wii version of Cave Story is having some sound issues with the new soundtrack.

“As you’ve all noticed, there’s a lot of weird things going on with the audio, for instance: drum tracks not playing (there is actually drums in the music files we provided), instrument changes delayed, unbalanced mixing. I discovered this yesterday by watching “Let’s Play” videos, and [I] am as disappointed as you. Nicklas and me have [asked many times] to sound check the game, but that’s not really something we had control over. Of course, the music is still questionable, but I just wanted to say a few words about it since people start to associate us with all the audio oddities in that game. That’s quite embarrassing, especially because I feel like we’ve done the job seriously considering limitations we had and time we spent sorting them out.” - Yann van der Cruyssen

I have not picked the game up yet, but it's a bummer that the new soundtrack isn't working properly.  The game does look fantastic.  Maybe I will just deal with the messed up music and pick it up anyways.

Meh, after all this time and still such issues, no wonder Nintendo kept turning down their release submissions as not good enough causing all the delays, it must have been even more fucked up. I hope they fix it soon or it may kill their sales a bit...

That's quite the bummer, though from what I have been playing of it, I haven't found it that jarring of a mistake. I'm still enjoying the remasters of the music, however erroneous they may be.

The game is still fun. That's what I care about. If they patch it, they patch it, if they don't they dont.

At least the game is playable.

The new music seems fine, but if they wanna make it better, go ahead. I'm sure there will be an update soon. When we'll get it is a mystery since you have no clue when they release these patches anyway.

Well, it's one guy. Can't expect one guy to have the efficiency of Skywalker Sound.

Er, no it's not. The original Cave Story was by 1 guy (Pixel), he's been working with Nicalis for this port... Otherwise why partner with them at all and not go indie.
