damn you all to hell! 1

Good: Being a fan of tabletop RPGs I have enjoyed my fair share of genres including steampunk, a genre that this game allows for fans to play and in my opinion thoroughly enjoy. Graphically this game runs very smooth with great textures when run on high settings across the board. The levels are amazingly large with tall structures of factories one would commonly find in an industrial environment. Because of these large and high standing buildings the game truly shines in that you must climb, le...

    Awful 0

While not an unplayable game, it certainly suffers from large amounts of bugs and issues. The story is pretty bland and forgettable, same goes for the characters. The combat and shooting is not fun at all, not to mention not very effective or accurate. The platforming and climbing is decent and works when you can actually get in the position to do it. Your character moves very quickly and sloppily making it a hassle to get into the right position that often times requires specific accuracy which...

Steam punk… What a ridiculous concept. Futuristic technology in a dated society is no new ordeal in the media world, but it only seems that with it your product is almost certainly destined for the kiss of death. Let's face it now, there are only a handful of steam punk related products that have actually been any good and simply put, to me, it doesn't quite have the same fascinating subtext as its proper neo sibling, cyber punk.So needless to say, because of this, my own initial impressions of ...

A little outdated, but not bad at all 0

Damnation is a third person shooter/platform released back in 2009 and set in an alternative history Western/Steampunk universe. The game mixes Tomb Raider like jumping together with third person shooting elements. Newer gameplay gimmicks such as a cover system are missing and use of cover happens like in the old days by just ducking behind a wall. While the levels are linear in structure, they cover an impressive scale and have a lot of verticality to it. Objects visible far in the background g...

Looks nice, gameplay however isn't. 0

Man this game looked fantastic from videos and pics prior to its release and i was REALLY hoping that it actually has a Gears of War touch in it (graphics and guns) mixed with a Wild West feel to it (the wooden buildings, the environment and atmosphere, the landscape, damn even the protagonist's outfit!).. This game certainly delivers all those things but in the crappiest way ever that makes you think, several times during gameplay "Oh my, this is a good story and a good concept and they have so...

    Damn waste of time. 1

You are not going to like this game. As tempting as it is to leave it at that I might as well explain why your going to be hitting your head on a desk wishing you hadn't paid full price for something that is a large test of patience.    The big thing for me, while i was playing this, was the god awful sound in this game. The weapons sound dumb and are the equivalent of nails running down a chalk board. If that doesn't sound bad enough then you have to listen to the same said sound because th...

    Avoid this Monstrosity 0

Let's get the story out of the way: It's a convoluted tale of the old West set in a steampunk universe. Oh, and the Civil War lasted for 40 years due to new weaponry. It's probably the least bad part of the game. You play the, well, pitiable Hamilton Rourke, a veteran of the Civil War who is stuck inside of a revolution caused by the profiteering of a major corporation that has gained power over the country when he helped make the Civil War take 40 years. Now, the game is a third person sh...

    Damn Damnation 0

£10 pounds i paid for two copies of this and i have to say i feel i kinda got my monies worth. Played through it with a friend and it fell into that "so shitty its funny" catagory. As a solo experience i dread to think of how depressing the brown/grey copy and paste level design would be. Not to mention the forgetable story, the fuck awful voice acting and the pathetic framerate. Honestly it took 3 minutes for the textures to load on one level. If you ever plan (like me) a shitty game weekend wi...

    Micro-Review: Junkfood for Videogames. 0

The gameplay in a nutshell is a stiff, sometimes awkward 3rd person shooter, that in the post Gears of War world just doesn't stand up all that well. Oddly enoough though I found myself going back to it. You could call the game junk food if  you were going to apply a food analogy: cheap, poor ingredients, not that good, but ultimately satisfying.  Lets be honest  here, the game is not a "AAA" title and unfortunately was probably priced as such in release. In a post Gears of War world it is almos...

Damn This Game To Hell! 0

Note: The following was written last year on another site, shortly after the game was released. But after filling out some information to complete the task on this wiki entry, I felt the need to paste it here anyway. Enjoy. --------------------------------------  Let me start off with this blurb about the game I found at GameRankings: "Evolving the shooter genre with its unique and exhilarating combination of fluid action and combat, Damnation will feature huge, open environments, frenetic co...

Damned from the moment I touched it. 0

Every now and then a game gets released that is an obvious beta. It has issues like having many glitches and having awful gameplay and graphics. I’m talking about this because, clearly, Damnation is one of those games. Trying to pin itself as a combination of Gears of War and Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, this game manages to not live up to either game, nor any other game that rips off of them.    Damnation takes place in an steam punk setting where the Civil War went on another twenty years....
