Might Dark Souls be the new Endurance Run? Mr. Rorie dropped hints on BtsD. I think this game would be great because the community could either help him or fuck him over!

Vinny might do it, but no one else in the staff would be willing to sit in with him. Maybe Patrick, he hasn't been here long enough for me to get a read on how fast he gives up when a game is too difficult.

Idk, watching 2 people die 24x in a row before they can pass a gameplay segment that takes barely 6 minutes at regular tempo does not seem particularly fun when youre not in control

If I see another endurance run thread I'm going too... Actually I can't do shit. Still these threads are becoming quite annoying.

The problem with this idea is that if Dark Souls is anything like Demons Souls (which it seems it's pretty much the same thing) it's kinda grindy, in which you sometimes just have to stay slaying the same monsters again and again to get some levels in order to defeat a boss or something, I myself had no problems with this in Demons Souls, I love that game, but not only it doesn't make for very compelling videos but also pretty much all of the GB guys dislike this type of thing so...

If they did an endurance run of Dark Souls think about how maddening it'll be. I think they need to choose a title that has more consistent progress built into the structure of the game than watching somebody die over and over and over again.

That's what I'm thinking, too. Not that I wouldn't want them to review it, but the notion that they'll do one of those live 1 hour+ quick-looks for it sounds likely.

I certainly hope it won't be an endurance run, since the best part about the P4 ER was the fact that it was a game I'll most likely never play. It's why I skipped over the DP ER entirely, and if it does turn out to be Dark Souls, I'll be avoiding this one, too. Sure, Dark Souls isn't exactly brimming with plot, but the dungeons and enemy bosses I want to witness for myself; it's why I've also been turning a blind-eye to the flurry of streams they've been doing for Dark Souls.

We need more of these threads.

Next Endurance Run should just be some goddamn pen and paper RPG goodness. Norman Chan DM'ing for maximum sadism.

The best fits for ERs are games that are obscure enough to have not been played or even heard of by many. Quirkiness is always a plus.

Not once did I have to do that in Demon's Souls.

The thing is, will watching Vinny screw up over and over again be funny? Or will they skip over thiose parts if things get out of hand and just get straight to when you collect your soul.

You know they don't have to cover this game because they don't feel like it needs covering. That's a reason they didn't cover Blaz Blue 2 even though people were in love with that. They aren't being lazy there's just no point. There might be a quick look and there might not.

This would be an amazing endurance run, and if it were members only, it would probably push me over the edge

well, NOW it is, the "first" one sold over 1million on just 1 system. The new one is getting a lot more hype, is on both systems, and its still a niche game, but now its niche in the same way Skyrim is niche
