I have a rather new high end PC (i5 750 oc'd to 3.7GHz, 5850, 4GB DDR3 etc etc) but I also just got PS3 move... which version should I get. On one hand I prefer using my PC 'cause it will run better... but I've heard the pc controls can be janky. On the other hand I'd love to get extraction free... but the PS3 version won't run/look as good as it will on my PC.
What would you do in this situation?
(I'm thinking PS3 now, PC when it hits a steam sale...)
Dead Space 2
Game » consists of 18 releases. Released Jan 25, 2011
Dead Space 2 is the sequel to the 2008 surprise hit Dead Space. The no-longer-silent Isaac Clarke finds himself trapped on a city-sized space station called the Sprawl, which has been overtaken by another Necromorph infestation.
PC or PS3?
Unless you're a graphics whore (and only terrible people are graphics whores), get the PS3 version. You get a game that was sold as a full priced Wii game FOR FREE.

If you're gonna get it on PC eventually just get for the PC now.
Why would you buy the same game twice
Yeah dude, as much as I can say that the PC version is an awesome way to play the game. A little tweaking with the settings and you can be playing perfectly fine with a 360 controller (or ps3 with a little panache) at 60fps in wonderful HD.
However you have a PS3, so yeah get that, because it's a free game (that looks pretty fun I might add) and Dead Space itself still looks and performs really nice on consoles. Just wait until it goes on sale for 20 bucks (or 5) as per usual with steam.
I remember when you guys spent all your allowance to buy what you thought was the 600 dollar graphics leader. How cute that you've now become this. Let's see, he can buy the cheaper PC version, or the version that comes with a game that needs a 150 dollar peripheral to play. What a conundrum." @MooseyMcMan said:

If you read what he wrote, he clearly states that he already has PS Move.
Edit: Also, you don't need Move to use it, it's just not as good without using Move.

Get the PS3 version for the free extraction...
Then buy it again when it goes on sale for 10 bucks on Steam.
Even though the pc version will look better the ps3 version still looks fucking great, haven't played pc version so I can't comment on the controls but free extraction is a pretty good deal. In the end it's your choice but I'd go with ps3.
" @OneManX said:I think you get the hacker suit from Ignition which is the motion comic, I dont think Extraction unlocks anything in DS2" Just play the game. That is all. Edit: if you want all the goodies and the best bang for your buck, go for the PS3 version. "Are there goodies associated with playing extraction and then playing the full game? Or is that only with the PSN/XBLA comic thing. "

$15, just get the PS3 version dude. Graphics aren't everything you know." @Octaslash: How much is extraction? "
It's not just graphics. My monitor looks nicer than my TV. I have 5.1 on my TV so I couldn't play at night, it'd wake people up. The game would run better (not just look better) on PC. I prefer PC controls if done well. I'm moving out to college soon, and only taking my PC and leaving my ps3/360 at home... so the more games I have when I'm away the better.
I'll probably get it on Ps3 and if it's <$10 on PC get it then.
"I just saw that Extraction only comes with the $80 Collectors Edition."That's not true at all. It comes with EVERY new copy of Dead Space 2 on the PS3.
i bought my PS3 on half.com for 189$ with shipping, And its the Backwards compattible 80gb model -_-.....
" @awesomeusername said:!?!?!?! Wtf gamestop!?!?!? I checked the regular (limited edition) on the site and it doesn't say what it comes with. @WEGGLES: With the reply above me, still buy it for PC. I see no reason to buy it for PS3 and then leave it because college. Just do what I told you. There's no reason to buy a game twice. Unless you can afford to throw $65 for no reason.
This is definitely a showcase game for the PS3, the only way you'd be disappointed is if you played the PC version first. I wouldn't mind having a second or third play through on the PC, it'd be refreshing with AA and all the extra particle and lighting effects added. A lot of people probably would suggest not wasting your time or money on the PS3 version if you have a capable computer, but if I were you I'd get both versions.
Anyways i say get the PS3 version unless you want the best graphics for it, if you do then go for the PC version.
Oh, and Dead Space 2 is $60 on both platforms. I played on PS3 and at no point during the game was I wishing it looked better. The game looks amazing regardless of how you play it. Really, it comes down to whether you want Dead Space: Extraction or somewhat better graphics.
Well, I've got the PC version and would recommend it, but it's a real shame that the announced DLC won't be released for the PC, as far as I heard. Having said that.. the PC version looks gorgeous and plays great, but I might get the PS3 version as well only because of the DLC.
Tough decision, do what your heart tells you! ;)
PS 3 is a good game console. I have it. but unfortunately I don't have time to play with it since I have taken business trip a lot every year. so I had to find my solution. it's PC version game. my laptop is kind of powerful to play all new games with no problem (high video setting for any game). so I play games no matter where I am. that's my situation. I will sell PS 3. by the way, PC version DS 2 is awesome. I set everything max. I still have little over 60fps. if I turn off vsync, it is crazy faster (I guess it will be like over 120 fps or something). I get motion sickness. so I have to turn vsync on. I still have 60fps. so it's OK.

Shit im a HUGE whore then. Anyway get the PC version. I use a 360 controller for most games on my pc. The controls are fine.
Depends if you are into trophies or not - I am not at all, but I do quite like achievements as a carrot on a stick type thing. So I went for the 360 version over both PS3 and PC.
Played the first on PC though and that looks a lot better than Dead Space 2 on the 360, so I'm gonna guess the second is a visual treat on PC.

"I seem to remember buying a PS3 with my hard earned money for exclusive games and blu-ray capability. Allownce or graphics leader never game into the picture. It's not exactly news that current PCs outclass a console that came out in 2006.
The game's lighting really benefits from a higher resolution though - if you've got a 1920x1080 monitor or above, thoroughly recommended. Plus, the game runs at an average of 90FPS at that res for me max'ed out, and my PC isn't that powerful.
I, like you, have a kickass PC setup, i7 920 @4Ghz w/ 9GB of RAM and a GTX470. I was tempted to buy it on the PC to support my gaming platform of preference, but in the end, I caved to the free copy of Extraction HD on the PS3 as well as the news that probably none of the DLC coming to consoles for the game would ever make it to the PC.
At some I'll grab the PC copy too tho, just to check out those sweet, sweet graphics.

I got it for 360 because I'm just that big of an achievements whore. I didn't have move so I passed on PS3 version.......maybe I should have gotten it for PC.....but those achievements......
