personally, i just finished my second and plan to do zealot on a new game +. still apprehensive about doing a hardcore playthrough though, that shit seems crazy.
Dead Space 2
Game » consists of 18 releases. Released Jan 25, 2011
Dead Space 2 is the sequel to the 2008 surprise hit Dead Space. The no-longer-silent Isaac Clarke finds himself trapped on a city-sized space station called the Sprawl, which has been overtaken by another Necromorph infestation.
Which playthrough are you on?
could i get some help?
im at the end of chapter 5, maybe six. im in a room where my objective is through a shit ton of fire. i have the two batteries, but dont know what to do with them
I am currently playing through Extraction before I go on for the second play through and so far Extraction is actually pretty good.
@CoheedFavorHouse:
i just started my 3rd today, zealot. i plan to keep going 'till i have platinum. saving hard core for last. :S
Almost done with my second then it's on to zealot and then hardcore. And I also only need 4 more trophies, I need to decompress 5 more necromorphs, upgrade 2 more weapons, beat it on zealot and beat it on hardcore.
I just finished it twice already. one was normal (very first time. you know. try to find out how this game will seem like). then I beat it again last night on zealot level. but last night was crazy as hell. I was out of ammo, had no more med packs left, lower health. that's why I died 6 times in final battle. after government sector, suddenly the game has been changed situation. necros are more aggressive, stronger, double number.... so going to red marker is not easy on zealot level. ubermorph.... I hate this shit again. regenerate.... I can't fuck that shit up. from now on, I need to take a rest. I don't know when I will begin third one. maybe a month later? this game makes me tired. I don't care whether I will go on hardcore or not. zealot seems already enough to be tough.
Currently on my second playthrough on Hardcore (first playthrough was on Zealot) and am currently at Chapter 7 (my second save).

"Well Hardcore mode has Zealot level drops but the enemies are actually only Survivalist level so it's actually easier in that sense compared to Zealot mode. The limited saves is the only reason why Hardcore mode would be considered "harder" but since there are only a few encounters in the game that you have a good chance of dying on, it's really not that tough, especially once you've completed Zealot.
still my first, my copy just showed up in the mail friday, I'm on chapter 10 or 11 at like 7 hrs I think, there must be more chapters than the first Dead Space..
Really liking the game tho, had to stop tonight to take a breather, game is thick with atmosphere, and creepy as all hell in spots, well done Visceral
" @spazmaster666: I thought hardcore mode was tougher than all the others in terms of enemy health and damage. I'll give it a go later, my time is running out with Dead Space 2 unfortunately. "Zealot is actually harder than Hardcore since the enemies do more damage and have more health, but because Hardcore has no checkpoints, Hardcore can be more frustrating if you end up dying a lot.
