The best new franchise
So I started out with Dead Space getting it because I needed something to play after I sold the terrible Midnight Club: Los Angeles but when I got into it I found it to be one of the best and most immersive game in years. This game is so great because it takes many of Resident Evil's traits like the great scares, over-the-shoulder aiming, great graphics, and many other games and improves on them in every way possible. The scares for one are better than that of RE 5, the aiming and shooting is also better than RE 5 because you can acutally move around which doesn't detract from the scares and because the shooting is much more viseral and intense. The graphics and sound for Dead Space can compare to some of the best like Gears of War and RE 5 because of the little attentions to detail, the perfectly set orchestral movements, and the great dismemberment. And no other game I've played has ever immersed me so much into a experience as much as Dead Space has since the HUD elements are all realisticly set into the character leaving you with the beautifly grim and deadly world of the Ishimura
That brings me to the story which for a horror game is great and has a amazing backstory and characters. The main story is great and gets you close to the dwindling amount of characters while the backstory is equally amazing with it folding out over text, audio, and video logs that you find scattered about the Ishimura and the Dead Space prequil movie. And the characters while on the small side, are great with the game world, the USS Ishimura, being the best of all characters.
The only thing I found bad about the game is that with most EA published games, they have put a lot of downloadible content yet it is the kind that lets you cheat throught the game so I would reccommend not getting it untill you beat the game as to enjoy the game the most. The other only bad thing is that excluding the New Game+ mode, ther isn't anything to do after you beat the game which is kinda disappointing. So in conclusion the game is freaking amazing and was one of my favorite games of the last few years so do yourself a favor and go buy this game.
