As of today only, this is $14.98 on Amazon. Personally, I still cannot tell if it's worth it…

Amazon.com Video Games Deal of the Day is Deadly Premonition
Nah, word on the street is that the game was being shown off at a con or something, and people kept saying how it was Twin Peaks, or at least Twin Peaks-esque. The developers went back to the drawing board, supposedly, and changed the game to be less copyright infringing.
Or so they claim.
Also, yeah, that's an old, old screencap of the game back when it was called Rainy Woods and York was named David Young Henning.
" So wait - where is this game available? I live in Canada, do any fellows Canadians know if this game will work for me? "It will work if you manage to get a copy. I don't believe Amazon.com will ship games to Canada. Amazon.ca will do it, but their deals aren't the same as Amazon.com's and I can't even find the game on the site.

Amazon's shipping policies are currently "blanket" by category, and not per item. So anything in the Amazon.com Video Game category will not be shipped to Canada. Even accessories and toys. Kinda blows me away that I got Heavy Rain shipped from a UK HMV without a hitch, but Amazon.com and .jp will refuse. The regional licensing agreements they have must be lucrative in other ways. Make international friends, is all I can say.
I don't know what pegs a particular game as a niche title, but there are many that Amazon.ca will never stock. Muramasa for instance. Yet they've carried the strategy guide since day one. Now that they have opened up the site's inventory to fulfilment by marketplace sellers, there's a better chance we can get ripped off whenever Amazon's warehouse is out of stock.
" @Gizmo said:No, it's not."dude, what? Is that Zach? "
Look at the amazon blurb, that's not Morgan. "
Ehhh you still have to pay for shipping since its under $25, at the rate you can just go to your local gamestop and get it for $20 and not pay shipping.... In the end its about the same amount of money, i'll pass.
If anyone is looking for something worthwhile to take them past the free shipping threshold, "Fight Club" on blu-ray is $14 at the moment.
Twenty-nine bucks for the adventures of York and Tyler Durden, you can't beat that.

Seriously though, this game is giving me the old retro vibe of early survival horror games and honestly I liked those games. The quick looks have been hilarious so far and a big part of that hilarity is the games characters and atmosphere itself as it obviously does not take itself too seriously. For 15 dollars, what the hell. A crappy two hour dlc costs 8 these days and you don't get an hour and a half preview of those you know. Anyway for me it is worth it and my copy is in the mail.
"No razor scars = FUCK THAT. He looks waaay more douchey.

"This game was originally called Rainy Woods, and it was supposed to be released back in 2007. The developers held back on its release and reworked a lot of things, like the main character and the story itself, because they thought it was way too similar to Twin Peaks. Instead of just being an homage it was basically an alternate retelling of Twin Peaks. I suppose they feared legal issues and that's why they spent the three years changing it all up.

I'd heard that this game is so bad it's good and $15 is a decent price, but I feel like just watching the ER lets me experience that without the annoyance of playing it.
The game is amazing. For 20 bucks (15 if you get it from Amazon) you can't go wrong. It's bad, that's for sure. Picture a PS1 game with horrible driving, bad graphics, etc. You still liked it didn't you though? It's sort of like that. The story isn't bad (don't expect Heavy Rain style storytelling) and it's campy in that 80's B grade movie. Every day this week I have been excited to go home and play it some more. It's so cooky and fun I can't stop playing it. I highly recommend it and it's the best $20 game I have ever purchased. Hell, it's one of my favorites of 2010 so far (behind ME2 of course)
