Hey duders, i came across this mod that allows higher resolutions from the capped 800x600. I'm playing it at 1280x800 on my laptop and it's fantastic! Definitely lit that fire for me to start playing again. Not sure if you can play on battle.net with this, I've only been playing single player. Also, it's not a key logger or anything malicious. Link below =)

If you can play the original half life in 1920 by 1080, it can't be that hard.

The Diablo series didn't allow anything past 800x600, or something a little higher.

I think so, since a higher resolution meant you could see farther, giving you an unfair advantage or something like that.

There is a mod to play the game in higher resolutions, including widescreen. I've been replaying in 720p and it looks great. Everything was a bit small in 1080p. I don't know if that link from the OP is legit, but the mod is available from widescreen gaming forums. http://widescreengamingforum.com/dr/diablo-ii

I also haven't experienced any direct3d glitches like it says on that link.

Pretty sure his link is 'legit'. The mod you are using is also MultiRes the same one he linked. Everything becomes mega small but it's worth it.
