Well that's settled, I'm gonna go annoy my Blizzard tester friends for a release date tomorrow. Again.
Well played, sir.
Game » consists of 9 releases. Released May 15, 2012

I hope it's not released close to Torchlight 2, this would anger me!!
I'm more concerned about Guild Wars 2, these two seem to be hitting at almost exactly the same time.. Assuming Diablo isn't delayed more, which it almost certainly will.
Torchlight would do itself a world of favours if it hurries up and releases before Diablo though.
How can it be considered 'Delayed' when an official release date has yet to be announced by Blizzard? All they said that it was coming, but didn't give a hard date. This is to be expected from them. It's best to just chill, play through some Torchlight and Dungeon Defenders some more and when the actual date hits, every media outlet in the world will have it as a headline.
Oh.... and my guess is that it hits in early-mid June.
At this point I'm not even that hyped for the game. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice game to look forward to, but having to be connected to an American server 24/7 just about ruins it for me because of the massive delay Australians get.
I honestly see Torchlight 2 crapping all over this game, at least from my perspective.
Augh, this puts it in direct competition with Guild Wars 2 (supposing that the popular estimate for GW2's release date is close to correct). And I don't mean competition on the sales shelf. I mean for my time! :(

It's just when you sit for half a second and actually look at the character detail on the select screen it's hard for your brain not to say, "Holy shit this looks like something that should have come out 5 years ago".
I'm super excited for this game, make no mistake, but this was my first reaction upon loading up the beta. Honestly, I think Torchlight looks better than D3 as far as graphical fidelity goes.

Beta doesn't have the hi-res, try again

That's all fine and well, but the models barely even have discernible fingers.
Boy, if you have thought that investors breathing down your neck for the game to come out in order to make big Bobby bucks is daunting, think again. Diablo community forums are engulfed in infernal flames and drenched in blood over the pullback of the release date. I get a good chuckle over what a Blizzard employee would say at the earnings call on this...haha.
@BoogieWithStu: yeah you're totally right. I would be flipping shit if they were giving dates. What are you playing in the meantime?
I enjoyed Torchlight much more than what I've played of the Diablo 3 beta so far. Despite all the polish, it is just very boring.
I hope the longer dev time allows them to spice things up a little.

I'm surprised you feel that way. I personally thought the skills in Torchlight were really bland and not nearly as fun to use as the ones in Diablo II and III so far. They weren't as over the top. Arcane Orb on the Wizard alone already feels more powerful and fun to blow stuff up with than anything in Torchlight. I hope Torchlight II can improve on that.
Must be nice to have unlimited time and money.
I just realized that Diablo 3 was actually announced before even The Old Republic. June 2008. So Grand Theft Auto 4 and Metal Gear Solid 4 were out. Remember those days? There's actually a chance that there will be an entirely new Grand Theft Auto game built from the ground up and then released before Blizzard ever releases a sequel to a click-click-click game. The only thing that I think has been going longer is Guild Wars 2, and The Secret World (and that might not actually exist so).
What the fuck do they do there all day, race the office chairs around the halls? They've made 2 games in 8 years! 4600 people work for Blizzard! Maybe it's like "us and Valve are the last bastions of PC gaming, we have to stay true to all the early 2000s PC developers! Delay the game! Delay it again!" I bet Valve forgets to even announce Half-Life 3 properly before announcing that it's been delayed.

Haha, yeah. "We're sad to inform, that Half Life 3 have been delayed untill summer 2014 due to power going to other projects. Oh, yeah, we're working on Half Life 3 by the way."
@radioactivez0r: But you can delay it still, by saying "we'll be releasing it later than we expected". Simply saying you can't delay something without a real release date is semantics really. Saying "it's still not ready yet" is delaying it in a sense.

People getting upset by this is funny. Have you learned nothing from their previous games? Diablo 2 came out 1.5 years after its first announced "release date".
Every time I hype myself towards the hypothetical release, and then they announce a delay and I forget about it for another 3 months. Ugh, I'm in the beta too, but it just isn't enough to quench my loot thirst, amalur and WoW are my only lifelines right now.
“We’ve implemented changes to the game that we believe will greatly increase the game experience,”
That's like saying "We're making a game that we hope you will buy and play." It really doesn't say anything. I hate PR speak.
Amazon has said it was June 30th for ages. I thought that was the date, already.
Either way, I don't care. They can take another two years on it for all it matters. It's going to be something I buy at launch, sit down to play on a weekend, and about six hours later, complete it and put it back on the virtual-shelf. It's not like there's a dirth of things to play, as it is.
