Cyberbots: FullMetal Madness is a mech based fighting game published and developed by Capcom. The game was released in Arcades in 1994 and was then ported to the PlayStation and Sega Saturn shortly after.
An arcade-action interpretation of the third film in the original Star Wars trilogy, as Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker and his crew must rescue Han Solo and help destroy a re-built Death Star.
The fourth and final installment of the Monster World series.
Exact's Geograph Seal, released for the Sharp X68000 computer in 1994, is a precursor to Jumping Flash! Rendered in 3D polygons, it was the earliest first-person shooter with platforming mechanics. It also allowed the player to aim the weapon, and took place in free-roaming outdoor environments rather than the corridor labyrinths of contemporary FPS games like Doom.
The fifth iteration of Street Fighter II makes further changes to each characters' movelist while rebalancing the game and adding a new Super Meter (with a Super Combo attack for each fighter), adjustable game speed settings, and a hidden final boss.
Play as Sonic or Tails to chase down Doctor Robotnik/Eggman once again. This time Sonic must also face a new enemy, Knuckles the Echidna.
Surf Ninjas was created as a tie-on for the 1993 New Line Cinema movie of the same name. It features an evil military leader that seeks to kill the last heirs of the throne to the Patusani Kingdom.
A 2D platformer created by Ocean Software and released on various platforms. Mr. Nutz is a red squirrel who wears shoes, a glove, and a cap. Like other platformers of that era, he must jump on the enemies to defeat them.
Following the events of the second Star Wars film (the Empire Strikes Back), this side-scrolling action platformer adds a variety of new abilities (including grenades and Force powers) and a password system (to compensate for its brutal difficulty).
Part of the "Dracula X" storyline, Rondo of Blood is a Japanese-exclusive entry in the Castlevania series of horror platformers that takes place a century after the original Castlevania.
Aero the Acro-bat's gameplay consists of simple platforming elements in which Aero, a red bat, that lives in a circus, must defend it from Edgar Ektor.
A side-scrolling action game for the Sega Genesis and part of Sega's long-running Shinobi franchise. It is the direct sequel to Revenge of Shinobi.
Golden Axe III is the third game in the Golden Axe line of fantasy beat 'em ups.
The Silent Fury is an exclusive addition in the Shinobi series, only for the Sega Game Gear.
Guide amateur magicians Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck as they try to return home after being sucked into the mysterious World of Illusion by a powerful magician.
When Pluto is dog-napped by the evil Emperor Pete, Mickey Mouse sets out to rescue him (with the help of several magical costumes with special abilities).
Chakan was such a powerful swordsman that even Death could not defeat him in battle. However, centuries later, he has become tired of life and will do anything to finally be able to die.
Sequel to Strider made by British developer U.S. Gold in 1990 under license from Capcom USA. Platforms include Sega Genesis, Game Gear and Master System.
Valis SD, known in the U.S. as Syd of Valis, is a retelling of the events of Valis 2 in SD form. It is a side-scrolling action game with multiple weapons and stages. Each stage ends with a boss.
Based on the eponymous toy line, Monster in My Pocket follows a shrunken-down vampire and Frankenstein's monster as they battle other equally pint-sized folkloric and mythological creatures.
Ninja Gaiden: Shadow is the first and only Game Boy iteration of the famed franchise. In this particular adventure, players join Ryu Hayabusa as he attempts to take down Emperor Garuda, an evil emperor bent on conquering earth.
The third game in the classic Ghosts 'n Goblins series sees the valiant knight Arthur once again embarking on a brutally difficult quest to rescue his beloved from demonic forces.
The one-on-one arcade fighting game that kicked off the "fighting game revolution" of the 1990s. Play as one of eight martial artists and travel the world to knock your opponents out of the tournament!
A sci-fi mech action platformer that allows the player to reverse gravity as they traverse several levels littered with a wide range of enemies in order to save the world from an orbital nightmare.
Claudette the cat has been kidnapped by scientists who are going to use her for their experiments. As Bob Cat you must find and save her.
Often considered the franchise's pinnacle, The Revenge of Shinobi features a wide variety of locations, and a soundtrack by Yuzo Koshiro of Streets of Rage fame. In early versions, it also featured bosses who bore a striking resemblance to characters not owned by Sega.
Distinct from the Arcade and Genesis versions, Strider for the NES features a more complex, Metroid-style structure, where Hiryu gains abilities throughout the game that grant access to new areas. The story draws heavily from the Strider manga.
Strider is an arcade action side-scroller, and one of Capcom's first big hits for the Sega Genesis console.
An early example of a "Metroidvania"-style platformer, Legacy of the Wizard tells the tale of a family of adventurers who must use their combined abilities to seek the Dragon Slayer sword and defeat a powerful dragon deep in a twisting labyrinth.
Classic NES platformer in which the game continuously scrolls to the right. Players must use the NES Zapper accessory to make the character (Gumshoe) avoid obstacles and reach platforms. The Zapper can also be used to shoot enemies in the path. Gumshoe was published and developed by Nintendo.
